Thank you! I try to read and sometimes I just DON'T get it. Other times...I get it. The times I don't get it, I get really discouraged. I have been able to read alot of bible/scriptural based books lately that I really enjoy! I even wrote a poem about it in 2004... PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING Oh, God, teach me to find understanding in reading your word, For it is written in a language, I have never heard. I try studying the Bible to learn about you and what you ask of me, But I can’t make sense of it, to be who you want me to be. I’m hungry for your word, and I desire to be fed, The devil is attacking me; starting in my head. I need to speak the Word of God and rebuke him in the name of Jesus, So he will know that the solid foundation I stand; is only for the righteous. Meditating on your word is hard when I don’t understand, What to apply to my life to live eternally in the Promise Land. Father, God, I pray, that you open my eyes so that I can see your greatness, Touch my mind so that I can live in your likeness. Thank you, God, I now have Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding to seek your face, For Power, Love, Salvation, Peace, Faith, Meekness, Gentleness, Longsuffering, Goodness, Temperance, and Grace. Since God has been confirming about your mate and all these honey lipped men are showing up...ummm...guess what? I'm just sayin... My thoughts exactly. To be honest, this shouldn't surprise me because I've had dreams warning me about marrying the wrong man and so have one of my co-workers. Thinking back on them, how can I marry the wrong one if the wrong one doesn't try, huh? I just have to remember to seek God about it every step of the way and WATCH AS WELL AS PRAY! Cholette, I was going so fast that I clicked the wrong thing to modify after I was prompted. You are absolutely right. I need to pray more in my heavenly language because I just don't know what to pray anymore about this. So I know if I pray in my heavenly language, God will intercede for me and line my prayer up with His Will for my life...just like you said! Thank you girl. Ok...I didn't make it to Bible Study last night. One of my Sister's in the Lord texted me the topic and two scripture's last night. The topic? Deception! I didn't read the scripture's last night and I thought about them this morning but I NEVER read them. There's this thing with me that I know the enemy has a field day about....I don't like to read. I've NEVER liked to read. There are times when I can study the word of God and then there are times that I literally have to MAKE myself read just "one" verse. So a lot of times, I get it from others (I know, I know, I know...I have to get more for myself-one on one with God). So after posting this thread, I began to read the scriptures she gave me and the reference scriptures to go along with them. I know the distractions that are being thrown my way have also come to deceive me in this particular area - especially concerning one particular person and now it seems that they are coming out of the wood-works! And they ALL have a way of "sweet talking" me to believe they are geniune in what they are saying. (The commentary in my bible says it like this - "Honey on the lips and poison in the heart") I have had previous, shall I say escapades, with each of these men and have cared deeply for them before. I have been praying and believing God for my husband for almost 5 years (seriously, I mean). Recently, He has given me confirmations concerning the union of my husband and I; which I think is closer than I realize so I'm expecting him to approach me any day now but I don't want to be deceived by distractions that have come to be a counterfeit of the TRUE MAN OF GOD/PRIEST OF MY CASTLE! One of the scripture's she gave to me is Judges 16:4-20 (I read the entire chapter - but we all know the story of Samson and Delilah) My commentary has really caused me to think about this thang... "Samson was deceived because he wanted to believe Delilah's lies. Although he could strangle a lion, he could not smother his burning lust and see Delilah for who she really was. How can you keep your desire for love and sexual pleasure from deceiving you? (1) You must decide what kind of a person you will love before passion takes over. Determine whether a person's character and faith in God are as desirable as his or her physical appearance. (2) Because most of the time you spend with your spouse will not involve sex, your companion's personality, temperament, and commitment to solve problems must be as gratifying as his or her kisses. (3) Be patient. The second look often reveals what is beneath the pleasant apperance and attentive touch." A person can talk a good game but eventually, just as the old saying goes, their TRUE identity will be revealed! If I follow the advice given in number 1 alone, I WILL NOT be deceived in this area. Distractions will come but number 1 has given me a very much needed tool;or should I say guideline...

DOES ANYONE HAVE NOTES, A STUDY...ANYTHING -THEY WILL SHARE WITH ME CONCERNING DISTRACTIONS! I AM BEGINNING TO THINK I HAVE A MAGNET ON MY FOREHEAD THAT READS "PICK ME, PICK ME...I WANT TO BE DISTRACTED AND DECEIVED!"

Please pray for the family of a 13 year old boy who committed suicide yesterday. Apparently, he and his girlfriend broke up. He shot himself before school yesterday.

You're welcome. I went through this last week. Sandra gave me a piece of wisdom...or should I say "reminded" of something. She said when we are on the edge of our breakthrough, the enemy will throw distractions/obstacles our way to doubt what God has told us. I'm not sure if this holds true for you but everytime I get distracted, it's ALWAYS in an area God has made a promise to me in and nine times out of ten He has just told or confirmed it to me. Call the enemies bluff and stand on what God has told/shown you!

TRICKED OR TREAT The true story about Halloween… A fun Holiday or a Trick? What do you think? Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Halloween originated with the Celtic civilization about 300 years before the birth of Christ. The Celtic lived in what is now Northern France, Britain and Ireland. The Celtics worshipped many false Gods. They were ruled by Kings who feared a secret priestly society named Druids. The Druids had much power and ruled by terror and sorcery (witchcraft). In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Celtics immigrated to America. With them they brought their filthy traditions and their false gods. These traditions & customs quickly spread among the people of America. Americans have always and still search for the truth and the “something more” out there. Because we did not take time to research the Celtics customs, we have allowed their traditions to evolve into a “fun holiday”. As parents, your responsibility is to PROTECT and INSTRUCT your children keeping them from physical and spiritual harm. As you have noticed, communities are emphasizing “SAFETY” during Halloween. This is no coincidence. They are very much aware of what goes on during the Halloween period. Satan wants to destroy children. Protect them from the evil that enters their lives during the Halloween season. Fear and spirits can follow and torment them for the rest of their lives, handicapping them with worry, shyness, timidity, and insecurity. Give honor to God and put aside the unholy practice of a pagan religion. I ask you this: “Would a man be pleased if his wife committed adultery one night out of the year just for the fun of it?” In the same way, God’s Heart breaks when He sees this nation of His chosen people celebrating Halloween. It is considered an act of spiritual adultery, one of satan’s clever schemes to separate us from God (interestingly enough, Harry potter comes to mind)! The WORD of GOD leaves no room for compromising. We are told clearly in Thessalonians 5:22 to “abstain from all appearance of evil”. Now that you know the truth, do the right thing and avoid the participation in the celebration of satan’s holiday. CHOOSE LIFE! Confess JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and SAVIOR, TODAY and live forever! “That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. Romans 10:9-10

Do it God! I'm going to share this with my sister. My niece has it as well and bless her heart there are days that she doesn't want any clothes on. Now that she's older, she just can't walk around without clothes on! I will use this same testimony to speak to asthma, sinus, allergy, and glaucoma that are trying to attach themselves to my children!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. God is good!

God is doing a "QUICK" work!

Justblueskies... I hope you don't take offense to what I'm about to say because that's not how it is given. Non-believers, sometimes not all, will find the faults of others who say they are believers to NOT believe. There is nothing you can do about this family member who drinks heavily. He has to give an account for his life to God just as those who are watching his behavior and choosing to continue in unbelieve because of what they see from "flesh". Yes, we as children of God MUST represent holiness and righteousness so that people will see Christ in us. If this family member is not doing so, then they should not pattern believers after him. They choose to watch his behavior and decide not to believe rather than watch yours and decide to believe and want to get to know the God you serve. For every saved person who is not living upright and pure before the Lord, there is MORE than one who IS! Just pray for him that God will deliver him from his addiction and You continue to live a life pleasing unto God. Who knows...you might just be the vessel God uses to deliver him.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the prisoners that are about to go to war. I've heard soldiers in the military talking in conversation about this (the v-chip). It's said to be planted in the prisoners (death row - violent crimes inmates) head to keep track of them. I didn't know they were being hired to build concentration camps. I thought it was to "rebuild" the damages that have been made due to the war.

I remember a few months ago, this very teaching became life to me in Bible Study. It became very clear to me that I had separated myself from the foundation of Jesus Christ...the sure foundation...the cornerstone. Let me explain. I had repented and rededicated my life to the Lord 2 years ago (AGAIN). I was faithfully standing on His word and His promises. What I didn't realize though, was the fact I was trying to build the life God promised me on "MY OWN" foundation...my way. I wasn't doing it intentionally, but thank God He loves me enough to reveal my actions. I know I posted earlier on this thread but reading it again has reminded me of this nugget of information and that I must STAY on the foundation of Jesus Christ. Linda, you are very correct to keep emphasizing the importance of OBEDIENCE because it brings blessings. I'm learning to walk in obedience...prompt obedience. Because I have also learned that "delayed obedience" is disobedience.

I'm not sure if I understand your question but I will try to answer it. If I miss it, just rephrase the question...K? This scripture let me know that I was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit by the grace of God through faith. That same Holy Spirit through faith is what's going to keep me. I was trying to live "right" instead of trying to live "RIGHTEOUS" and holy. Now, when I'm faced with a struggle (sin), I trust in the Holy Spirit that is within me to make a way of escape so I will not fall into it. Don't trust in your own ability. Trust in the power of God and the Holy Spirit that dwells in you to keep you. If you're walking in the Spirit, sin can't stay. It will come to test you; but it CAN NOT stay! The flesh and the spirit is always going to be at war. The "Stronger One" is going to over power the other. That's where the scripture that says "...the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak...". Therefore, we have to stay in the word because the "one" you feed the most is the "one" that's going to win!

How would I feel if I had put his name on the car and then he said that to me? I don't think this would make a difference if what he says don't hurt you. But if you say it doesn't then it doesn't. I can't say the guy I'm speaking of had many demons but I do know that, just as your husband, he was wounded. Even with that being true, it gave him no right to do what he did. It may not hurt you but you can believe it's hurting your daughter and if YOU don't make it right for her, YOU will see your life being played out right before YOUR very eyes through her!
