  1. No need to wish you good luck with the sale that will get snapped up
  2. thought it was your bike Its a lot cleaner
  3. naa were far to ugly for that He did not mean the competition ,he meant have you three thought about (literally) entering mr Gay uk .
  4. Well one of the reasons was you can't get paniers for the 1300 and the new 1000 is a bit more stream lined. Its lighter as well which will help as I'm a short arse. I'm nearly flat footed on it on its lowest seat height. Right from the off the power delivery is smooth, the throttle is like a hot knife through butter, its so so easy, unlike the Bonnie that no matter how carful you are can be a bit judery. Changing down, once again very smooth very easy. A Completely different ride and a much better one. Corners I'd normally take well on this one where at least 15mph faster and the lean, well just brilliant. I went on the motorway, and F***k me I twisted the throttle and looked at the speedo and was doing a ton without even realising it. It brakes just brilliantly, abs and linked braking what could be easier. I've got another test ride on Saturday before I finaly make a decision. Dobles have given me a good price with the following add ons: Panniers Top box all colour matched centre stand Honda Heated Grips Auxillary socket and a good trade in price on the Bonnie as stock. I'll sell all the extras on Ebay. Wish I had done a test ride before the arrows went on a couple of weeks ago. I can't think of much more, oh except its a detuned Fireblade and is like shit off a hot shovel.. So its just one big compromise then you dont realy like it but It'll do Only kidding It sounds like a great bike good luck with It. hope you get the deal you want and enjoy. PS. I moved from a Yamaha Thunderace in 2003 onto a brwnd new 955I centenial and the fuel injection was crap could not ride it at 30mph through town without slipping the clutch (which was a cable and bloody heavy) only cured it with a race can and remap). Did not get on with that bike at all thought they'd improved though obviously not.
  5. That was me in 1973 flat out downhill on my Honda SS50 if the hill was long enough would get to 50
  6. So what made you choose the 1000 over the CB1300?
  7. Go on then I'll be the miserable bugger. Can you Imagine what the bleeding heart liberals would have done to the service men over here. Give them all a medal
  8. I think you know the answer to this one for you and your mini me Just to let you know one of the guys coming to Holland (Assen) for the week at the end of June is bringing his 17 yr old son and the week before the 2 of them are off to France Le man on the bike camping and watching touring cars I think. Never did anything like that with my dad at any age never mind 17 It must be fantastic (I've got 2 daughters not interested in bikes but fortunatly share my passion for sheffield wednesday)
  9. With someone who knows what the're doing a little TLC and some cash you never know
  10. I think this is all a big game we have to play. Just done a few quotes online and Hastings have come out the cheapest @ £206 FC for my Busa the next best was MCE @ £252 FC. With Adrian Flux at moment and they Indicated when I changed my bike last month It would be about the £285 ish. So looks like Hastings this Year and swap again next year.
  11. Shop arond every year no discounts for loyalty Lee. I'll be doing my bike in June wont ring them to match best quote, if they take the piss just cancell and stuff them. Just had similar with house insurance renewal nearly £400 got B&C for just over £200. phoned and cancelled renewal cheeky gits asked why changing told them could get same cover for half the price, they said theyd match It, told the to get stuffed should have given best quote first and not take the piss just hoping I'd pay.
  12. I have carried a donar card in my wallet for years. Me and the Mrs have just renewed our photo licenses and ticked yes we do you want to be on the donar register, IMO this is the wrong way round you should have to opt out, not in. Answer this Question. I have been married 30 years we have 2 Daughters, if my wife or daughters were ill I'd be the first in the Que. So I'm prepared to take therfore I'm prepared to give. Anyone who opts out should not be able to recieve. I am a believer of what goes round comes round and have been a blood donar for over 13 years started when I was 40. I think if you are prepared to take you should be prepared to give. So if you've been thinking about it and not got round to it Give It A GO It'll take about an hour of your time and you'll feel good about yourself Sorry to Preach feel strongly about this.
  13. the only reason i ended up with a ns125 is because it was a cheap project origanaly i was after a RD125 but they are soooooo exspensive provided i can get through this year with this bike i will look for another over the winter....or i could just dab in and do my full bike test and stop ar**ng around with little boys toys Get your test taken, then the worlds your Oyster.
  14. I always keep a spare fully legal plate goes on when you take it in for MOT comes off when Its passed save for next year. (I do have a private plate on mine so suppose that makes it easier cus I just swap it from bike to bike.) However for a tenner to keep a legal plate saves a lot of hassle
  15. look on your original post it was xs1100
  16. http://www.campbellcustom.co.uk/Hyabusa.htm What do you think of these "a bit different" IMO as everone seems to go down the Yoshimura route with the Busas' Very nice bike , and I would definitely go for the cans, if you can get them past the good lady. Could be dangerous though Very dangerous dont want Castrating not even at my age
  17. its just a pity i dont like Bandits! that said i dont think i would whine so much if it was the 1050 the hire bloke did say he will try and sort out the 1050 or a CBF9 ASAP...which was nice... as for the next bike its going to be a Aprilia RSV...with Tuono topyokes and bars...that should annoy people!! In this PC world with everyone treading on eggshells trying not to offend anyone. half the people on here ride Bandits and your dissing them treading on thin Ice M8, 1050 you dont mean Triumph do you ? or did you get mixed up over the 1250 Suzuki?
  18. welcome You wont be lonley coming from Leicester on this site
