good question young man, right see the rod on the original tensioner set up, that goes into the big bolt in the alloy block which is drilled out like a gun barrel that bolt is locked in position with the big nut against the alloy block, the allen bolt holding the block in the tensioner is then secured with red fast setting Loctite on a single use locknut and tensioned to 75 ft/lb . this stops the tensioner flapping about and hitting the clutch basket , got it.

few weeks ago noticed a knocking when starting the bike, upon further investigation and research on zzr forum found out it was the starter/alternator chain tensioner pulled the side casing off and looks like I caught it nice and early you can just see some marks on the edge of the clutch basket where its been catching very slightly. bought the kwicks tensioner mod from the states, feckin got stung for import duty and the post office stuck £8.00 on too which is a rip off when I paid $25.00 for it to come from Arizona to London which is 5200 miles and London to me is 275 miles. anyhow just fitted it tonight fired it up and no knocking "result". heres some pics original tensioner you can just see marks on basket. new tensioner mod mod fitted.

the first guy loved the bike but came with his missus to view it "always a bad sign " he said he would think it over and rang me back to come and see it again the next day after I sold it to the second guy. he was gutted.

well just sold my bandit today to the second person to view it iv'e had a lot of pleasure building and riding that bike , I would like another project but struggling to find any time at the moment works getting busier and the house needs some running repairs just not enough hours in the day. will have to see what my friendly bike trader comes up with in the future. heres a farewell pic some one might see it about, a guy from billingham bought it. and he's just hit a deer with his car so I got a job out of it too.

the finish and build quality on all modern bikes has gone downhill if you ask me even Hondas are not like they used to be. why should you pay for another oil change m8 raise hell in the showroom when they are busy pretty sure they will buckle and agree to at least that..or tell them you want another bike the same to use while they sort it then you can see if its the same.

yes tried all sorts of creams and heat packs in the past I found the best thing is to bang in anti inflamatorys and pain killers and try to keep mobile the worst thing to do is go to bed sometimes bang a beanbag in the nuke that eases it for a bit too.. dunno about allo vera chad I thought that was for keeping mozzies off ya. had a guy look at bike last night he is going to think about it ?? got a guy coming to look at it in the morning at work its only been advertised for 2 days out of fourteen so we will see.

well just put my bandit up for sale on gumtree as I am not using it and seems a waste to just sit in the garage and I could always use the money for another little project. just don't tell the missus.

the thought of giving it a quick exit did cross my mind briefly dave but gave it a chance instead we did try to get in touch with pdsa but could get no answer.

got some new parts coming from usa flippin better hurry up.

we have a 7ft high beech hedge around our garden and in the early hours of fri morn there was a fracas in the garden I thought it was a cat or magpie so could have something to do with that . I checked for nests but the only one there was empty, later I saw a blackbird often flying back in to it with nesting material shame it had no chics in as I would have tried putting the chic in.
