Been looking and can't seem to find it Stue put a thread up about possibly organising a get together later in the year. I've looked but can't seem to find it anywhere. Have I lost it, or has it moved somewhere? Just curious about what the repsonse was and whether it was progressing? As I said at the time I'm up for it as the meet in Stratford last year was very pleasant and a good time was had More than happy to do something similar again this year

Youngest Son Has managed to get himself another job! He left school then to college to do his automotive mechanics course, which he passed. Credits and Distinctions all over his grades. Has now managed to get a job as an HGV Fitter. More hours, but should just about double what he's getting paid. He's been at the garage he's cirrently working at for close on 7 years, so hasn't just got the experience and ran. I think he's more than paid the guy back so he has his week to work then starts his new job. Eldest Son Recently got a new job working for a garage/ maintenance centre attached to a car dealership. He's done his MOT Technician course so is running that for them and he's gradually started running the maintenance side of the business for them as well. He also went to college and did his course, again with Credits and Distinctions all over his grades. Both seem to be managing and progressing well. And good to see two lads working and earning rather than wasting time and sponging of the benefit system. I know I'm a bit biased, but just to let people know that some of the youngsters are out working

Wonder if we could keep this as a meeting location? There must be miles of roads in the area to use and ride round. I know it means we're always in one area, but it's fairly central for everyone to reach.

As the cliche goes, BUMP!!! My Dad has his new bike, CBR600 (I'll get some pics on Sunday and post them up) so is looking to sell the Bandit. It's condition is as above, but is in need of a back tyre shortly, so the price is now £1,400. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Interesting point above, but the article makes some very valid points. Yes sponsorship does help some athletes compete, but they still have to make the effort themselves, initially, which is up ridiculously early to train and practice, then to work, then more practice. Look at Torvill & Dean in the 80s. I know things have moved on and once the athletes get a sponsorship deal, or funding of some sort, then it does get easier for them. That's the main difference between them and the "footballers". Even at lower league clubs they will still be paid so they can train at work whereas most athletes train then go to work.
