  1. been on the lookout for a new pc,I dont want to spend a fortune as theyre usually out of date by the time you get them out of the box. Found this one in pc world http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/compaq-cq2940ea-desktop-pc-17392839-pdt.html that seems to tick all the boxes except a cf card slot but thats not really a problem I've got a card reader, anybody who knows about this kind of stuff got any opinions/alternatives. I want it mainly for photo editing using adobe photoshop elements 11.

  5. surely in this day and age it would be possible to have something small and electronic like the security tags they put in stuff in shops that you can remove from the bike, take down to a shop and plug into a machine to renew your tax or even renew online, like you top a mobile phone up then put detectors at the side of the road that can tell straight away if your vehicles taxed or not.seems simple to me.these devices could be readily available from shops for a couple of quid and if you lose it you could get it knocked out and transfer your tax to a new device.
  6. well wasn't that fun, sheet ice everywhere, theres been crashes and bumps all over round here, the hospital A+E dept is full to bursting with broken bones from people slipping over,I ended up on me ar5e twice,I can only ever remember that happening once before about 10 years ago but that was at night and didnt cause too much trouble.
  7. Or 2 pieces of string one down each side then measure the distance from the wheel to the string at the front and back of the wheel.but the easiest way is to get off the bike, put it in first gear, jam the throttle fully open drop the clutch out and see if it goes in a straight line.
  8. one thing to be very careful of on the Aprilia, theres a sprag clutch on the starter motor that can go and it costs a fair bit to repair, the one thing that makes it go is trying to start the motor with a flat battery.
  9. getting olds not much fun but its a lot better than the alternative.
  10. Its a 1098 you know the ones they tried to market saying they were as reliable and cheap to service as any jap 4 cylinder (yeah right).still love it though but next year I have to decide if I love it enough to keep it or cut my losses and get shut.
  11. Ahh can't be that bad! besides, got more bikes to ride if something goes badly wrong /t5376-the-joys-of-ducati-ownership Yeah i can see it being a fragile bike but tbf i don't really thrash bikes. you dont have to they just seem to go wrong of their own accord.

  15. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/nov/28/45p-minimum-alcohol-price-crime cant afford to ride our bikes now we cant afford to drown our sorrows.yet another tax aimed at the working man.wonder how much a bottle of bollinger will be going up. they say it "could" save up to 714 lives a year,WTF do they get that from. "We are consulting on these measures because too many of our high streets and town centres have become no-go areas on a Friday and Saturday night. Just under half of all violent crimes involve alcohol and a great deal of antisocial behaviour is alcohol-fuelled," May said in her Commons statement. so the people out down town on a friday and saturday night are carrying multipacks of Stella bought from Asda three for £21 are they, I dont think so. personally I think theyre trying to push it through to get more revenue so they can say theyre the good guys who didnt put tax on fuel up and also theyre rushing it through before it becomes blatently obvious its not made a blind bit of differance in Scotland
  16. Not much use on the bike but when it does come down they're a godsend for the car and Aldi are selling them for £20 a set
  17. if you pre booked it you "only" paid £9 for it.on the day its a tenner so thats why you only get £1 back.
  18. cant go wrong with pilot powers theyre fantastic tyres, i've used em for years now and i usually get 4500-5000 out of a rear and 7000 out of a front. Never had one slip/slide or scary slidey moment with them either.
