  1. I apparently swear a fair bit in conversation, although I generally don't realise that I'm doing it. When I am aware of it, I do of course moderate it accordingly. I guess that I get exasperated quite a lot
  2. The thing with the IAM is that the pace of the runs is totally dependant on which area group you go with (a bit like with Bikesafe you might get a good 'un and you might get a pedantic one) but as long as you find one that you're comfortable with, it can only be a good thing
  3. At least you had to walk back in the and not the
  4. That's a big plus then I figure that her carrying on driving with an unsecured load on the bonnet must contravene some construction & use regs Interesting to see what dibbbles has to say, hope the soreness is easing a bit.

I've got a tiny Veho Muvi thing, it works OK(ish) but doesn't like going into sunlight and the picture "waves" a bit at speed. An OK intro, but it just makes me want to get a proper one, which would be either a go-pro or more probably a dogsport Mini HD one: http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/minidvr-hd-bullet-camera.html but for now I can think of better things to spend £250 on....
  6. I never really 'get' those prices though. OK the 'proper' classics and even the daft prices that stuff like the RGV500, RD500 I can kind of see the appeal if you're just into collecting bikes, but £3800 for an '89 slingshot Gixxer? Why would you if you are actually going to ride the thing? And let's face it, stuff from the 80's only feels fast because they don't stop, go, or turn
  7. @Macie_UK May occasionally contain swears....
  8. Not a watchist myself Stue, but the yellow one out of those 3 - the red one looks tack and the orange one will clash with Dave's tan
  9. Nice buy matey, I've never spoke to a Fazer owner that didn't like it Anyway, the supermoto had to go - it's just one of those things that you have to leave behind at 40 mate, like wearing 3/4 length tracky bottoms and thinking you have a slim chance with that 20 year old
  10. Makes me cringe even to see a scooterist without gloves on, but as you say, each to their own. No need for the safety nazis to prescribe additional mandatory gear, just let Darwinism take it's course
  11. I still have the emotional scars from being dragged into town as a small child to see her 30 odd years ago. Needless to say that I won't be going, but the missus is taking her medium child into the melee of LE1...
  12. Ah, got ya Yeah with you on that one.
  13. I must be the only one that thinks the scooter rider was in the wrong then Comes off the roundabout in the middle of 2 lanes and then seems to drift into the right hand lane. He then tells the car driver that he didn't see him because he was looking over his left shoulder. Sorry peeps, but if a car driver gives it the "I didn't see you" bit we all go la-la. Car driver was a bit of a for jumping on the brakes though.
  14. Yeah got the new ones on bike & car. Yes dead easy to copy, as are downloadable insurance cover notes, but in this day and age it doesn't matter because any plod will check the PNC records anyway. Apparently one doesn't get the old "1,3 & 4" producers anymore (so small child tells me).
  15. Just a quick heads up to anyone that suffers bad fogging of visors - especially those speccy wearing muppets among us who really struggle.... Tried half a dozen different snake oil sprays (plus the fairy liquid & foggy mask) over the winter and have to say that these FogTech wipes rock mightily: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380412794136?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 By far the best tried and they still worked even in the monsoon that engulfed Mallory Park at the weekend Obviously a pinlock insert is the proper way to go, but handy for the pikeys amongst us, don't waste your dosh on the useless stuff that Busters or HG sell....
  16. Yebbut, they are saving squillions by doing away with the old style printed MOTs and just using plain paper.
  17. If it's the wingrack it's about right money, if it is just the top box rack then it's steep. If it's not got a specific fitting kit for your bike then budget 20 ish quid for that, the universal fitting kit is a bit flimsy. As fror the box, if it's the newer 'Maxia' type it's about right, if it's the older E36 stylee ones then he's being optimistic. Monokey is good, monolock is less so. By the way, the cheaper Kappa boxes will fit Givi monokey racks. I used to prefer soft panniers, but after a week of un-bungeeing them in the dark in a wet mid wales I stumped up for some hard ones, *so* much easier to whip 'em off when arriving at a b&b / ferry and you don't mind leaving valuable stuff in them when you go wandering away from the bike
  18. Small child put them in his ZX6R when it was having some dyno time. A gnat's doodah difference in power.
  19. The bacon rolls at the Red Lion are usually all gone by 10AM too....
