Destine, God loves you so much! He said in his word, even if the world rejects you, I will not abandon you! I love you with an everlasting love! That means he will never stop loving you! I know that there have been times myself when it seemed hopeless.....but I was so wrong....God brought me through my storm. Let me pray for you. Father God, I pray in the name of Jesus which is above all other names in heaven and on earth that you would wrap your loving arms around Destine right now.....send her your peace which surpases all understanding. Father we come against the enemy and command him in the name of Jesus to shut up right now. Get your hands off her! She belongs to Jesus! We command you to the feet of Jesus now and bind all powers including speach. We plead the blood of Jesus over Destine right now and ask the angels to come and stand with swords drawn to defend her. Here her cry Lord for you! Lord I speak over her your love, your comfort, your strength to stand against her foe, your endeering touch! Father let her here only your voice, your spirit and your word and may that minister to her in her time of need. We give you all the praise honor and glory, in Jesus mighty name. your servant, connie

~Cloud, Serving God is not about filling our own voids in life but filling a purpose for Him. Ask the Lord to show you what he wants you to do. One other thing to note. One other note. Are the people who are doing everything getting to busy? By that I mean you can get so busy in church you neglect your relationship with God.....and that is not a good place to be.....ask the Lord where he wants you and what he wants you to do. God bless, Connie

Deny Yourself Take Up Your Cross
Dove-Solutions replied to Cloud's topic in Member Bible Study & Teachings
~Cloud, I found this and it gives a great example of what Jesus means by "Picking up our cross and following Him". Let’s begin with what Jesus didn’t mean. Many people interpret “cross” as some burden they must carry in their lives: a strained relationship, a thankless job, a physical illness. With self-pitying pride, they say, “That’s my cross I have to carry.” Such an interpretation is not what Jesus meant when He said, “Take up your cross and follow Me.” When Jesus carried His cross up Golgotha to be crucified, no one was thinking of the cross as symbolic of a burden to carry. To a person in the first-century, the cross meant one thing and one thing only: death by the most painful and humiliating means human beings could develop. Two thousand years later, Christians view the cross as a cherished symbol of atonement, forgiveness, grace, and love. But in Jesus’ day, the cross represented nothing but torturous death. Because the Romans forced convicted criminals to carry their own crosses to the place of crucifixion, bearing a cross meant carrying their own execution device while facing ridicule along the way to death. Therefore, “Take up your cross and follow Me” means being willing to die in order to follow Jesus. This is called “dying to self.” It’s a call to absolute surrender. After each time Jesus commanded cross bearing, He said, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” (Luke 9:24-25). Although the call is tough, the reward is matchless. Wherever Jesus went, He drew crowds. Although these multitudes often followed Him as Messiah, their view of who the Messiah really was—and what He would do—was distorted. They thought the Christ would usher in the restored kingdom. They believed He would free them from the oppressive rule of their Roman occupiers. Even Christ’s own inner circle of disciples thought the kingdom was coming soon (Luke 19:11). When Jesus began teaching that He was going to die at the hands of the Jewish leaders and their Gentile overlords (Luke 9:22), His popularity sank. Many of the shocked followers rejected Him. Truly, they were not able to put to death their own ideas, plans, and desires, and exchange them for His. Following Jesus is easy when life runs smoothly; our true commitment to Him is revealed during trials. Jesus assured us that trials will come to His followers (John 16:33). Discipleship demands sacrifice, and Jesus never hid that cost. In Luke 9:57-62, three people seemed willing to follow Jesus. When Jesus questioned them further, their commitment was half-hearted at best. They failed to count the cost of following Him. None was willing to take up his cross and crucify upon it his own interests. Therefore, Jesus appeared to dissuade them. How different from the typical Gospel presentation! How many people would respond to an altar call that went, “Come follow Jesus, and you may face the loss of friends, family, reputation, career, and possibly even your life”? The number of false converts would likely decrease! Such a call is what Jesus meant when He said, “Take up your cross and follow Me.” If you wonder if you are ready to take up your cross, consider these questions: • Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing some of your closest friends? • Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means alienation from your family? • Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means the loss of your reputation? • Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your job? • Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your life? In some places of the world, these consequences are reality. But notice the questions are phrased, “Are you willing?” Following Jesus doesn’t necessarily mean all these things will happen to you, but are you willing take up your cross? If there comes a point in your life where you are faced with a choice—Jesus or the comforts of this life—which will you choose? Commitment to Christ means taking up your cross daily, giving up your hopes, dreams, possessions, even your very life if need be for the cause of Christ. Only if you willingly take up your cross may you be called His disciple (Luke 14:27). The reward is worth the price. Jesus followed His call of death to self (“Take up your cross and follow Me”) with the gift of life in Christ: “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it” (Matthew 16:25-26). I pray this helps you to understand. Love in Jesus, Connie -

You know, the Lord will bring you through the fire to purify you and ready you for service. We have all gone through the fire at different times in our lives. Some periods are harder than others but obedience is key. Just let him know that you are standing fast in him. Ask for his strength and courage to do what is right. All those who go to the high places with the Lord walk this same path. We cling to Jesus because he alone can take us through the storm. He is there.....guiding each step. Remember he says I am the good shepherd and my sheep here my voice. Also he says I am the voice behind you saying this is the way, walk ye in it. Every situation you are facing he is with you. He loves you with an everlasting love and will never let you go! Love in Jesus, Connie

~ggyal, I could not agree more with Jasmine that we are never alone. The Lord gave you this group of people to encourage you and love you through your situation....just as he gave himself for you. Romans 8:1 says: therefore there is no condemnation to those who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. The Lord would never condem you......that is a lie of the enemy. Tell him to shut up and stand your ground. You are forgiven, justified, sanctified and Holy before the Lord through the shed blood of Jesus. We all love you here and we understand that we are only human and though we try to do things right that sometimes things don't go as planned. What we need to do is put that mistake behind us, shake of the dust, stand up and walk. You can do this. The Lord would not bring us to a situation if he would not bring us through it. Be honest with your boyfriend. Tell him you feel this is not the way the Lord would want you to handle the relationship. If he loves you he will understand. I pray this has been of help and of encouragement. Love in Jesus, Connie

Here is a prayer they suggest: I will be adding a few things to this but this is a great prayer. "Pray the USA's Covernant with God" Father, as Your Christian Nation, we affirm our covenant: You, the Lord, are the God of the USA and we are Your people. Jesus is our King. We obey what You say in the Holy Bible. We love You with all our heart, sould, mind and strength. We love on another as Jesus loved us. We ask You to forgive our sins by Jesus' sacrifice. In Jesus' name. Amen Ps 33:12, MK 12:30, Jn 13:34, 2Chr 15:12 I could not find a set time to pray for everyone. I think we are just suppose to pray while we are at church. Make it corprate if we can. God bless and thanks everyone for joining in the prayer! Love in Jesus, Connie

Shany, Trust in the Lord. He will give you the words to say at the moment you need them. You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you. Also regarding Bible Study. Be faithful even if it is just 30 minutes. Just ask the Lord to keep you alert and focused on his message he wants you to receive from him and to show you how to apply that to every day life. The enemy just wants to discourage you. You can do it. Just 30 minutes each day and ask the Lord for increase in time once you develop a habit. It only takes 21 days to develop it. I pray this has been of help to you. Love in Jesus, Connie
