I will attempt to join in, I look forward to read others' comments as well! 1) Samuel wasn't given the next piece of knowledge/instuctions until it was time for him to act. While I don't think he fully understood everything, he acted on that which he did know, i.e., he prepared a dinner in Saul's honor - he invited 30 people and held the place of honor for Saul with meat set apart specifically for him. 2) At first when I read the question, I didn't know what you meant when you said why did Samuel need a second word...I didn't get the sense that Samuel sought this word. But I realize that it was for confirmation that this man was indeed the man He was speaking of, again so that Samuel knew he could now act. And perhaps that's one lesson here is that we shouldn't act until we get the word from the Lord specifically to act. 3) God will give us what we need to know when we need to know it, we just have to trust Him that He really will give us knowledge, that He won't forget us. Most definitely He is the same today! 4) What resonated for me was that this is the second time in the last 24 hours that I've been reminded that when we dream, we're to act when we get a word from God. I feel compelled to review my dreams to see if I've missed something that I should be acting on.... Thanks for this lesson, keep them coming! God Bless!

LovetoworshipJesus - These words may sound empty now but it's now more than ever that you have to trust in the Lord. This may make no sense right now, but He is in control, knew about this situation from the beginning of time and will work this for your good - in fact, this may be part of His plan for you. For example, (this is a long shot) you have been praying for a house - is it possible that your lowered salary might now qualify you for loan programs that you wouldn't have qualified for before? Not saying that this is the reason as much as I'm showing one of a multitude of ways that the Lord can use this situation for your good. With the schedule change, does this mean you at a different time, or the courses you teach are different now? Will this mean that you interact with your Director the same amount of time? Maybe the new schedule will cause you to interact less and maybe the Lord brings someone into your life who will be instrumental somehow - and you might not have cross paths if not for this schedule change? Again, just showing you how this could be used for your good, only the Lord knows for sure. I can only offer you Psalm 37 right now - Trust in the Lord, Delight in the Lord, Commit your way to the Lord, and Wait on the Lord. Continue to worship and praise Him (as I know you are doing), he would never hold any good thing from you! My personal testimony - EVERY time that I've been persecuted on my job, the door was opened to another better opportunity. This situation might not look good now, but don't lose faith! I'm praying for you that the Lord will give you the peace that transcends understanding regarding this and that He would give you an assuring sign that His hand is in this. Blessings, Lurdys

I fall into the 70's/80's camp as well (and 60's)...back when music was music! But for some reason 2002 sticks out for me...that was a good year for music too across all genres...

It's funny you mention that...I know someone who did the same thing...described a dream and received an interpretation but didn't share the FULL dream...he made a life decision based on the interpretation and is now suffering because of it...he himself admits now that the dream was a warning dream...he was supposed to run FROM someone, not TOWARDS that person... :banghead: he'll be ok but could've saved himself a year of heartache, aggravation, embarrassment, and money. Having said that, he's now closer to the Lord than he ever was prior to this dream and is walking in obedience. God will take all things and work them out for our good, but we sure could do more to save Him the effort!
