  1. Charcoal for me, much prefer a traditional bbq. I agree with the ease of a gas one but half the fun is trying to light it.
  2. Wait until next week and I'll post a How Too on fitting brake lights to a TOPBOX
  3. don't worry my little padwan , scotch locks in the morning provide i will. Thankyou master Jedi Jizman also my light sabre is extended and you shall feel the force , ready tomorrow you shall be. yeah yeah Ive heard all that before and it failed to meet expectations
  4. As I said before I can't make it due to my dad's 65th but I plan on taking my bike over to Boston where they live for the weekend so I may be able to meet up with you at The Bewicke arms on my way back home. Are you still planning on getting there around 1pm ?
  5. plus I didn't have any scotch clips about and couldn't be bothered messing with the terminals. don't worry my little padwan , scotch locks in the morning provide i will. Thankyou master Jedi Jizman
  6. Yeah I was tempted to power them from the small fusebox upper left of the battery in the pic above but I powered my bandit ones straight from the battery plus I didn't have any scotch clips about and couldn't be bothered messing with the terminals. I still may do it sometime in the future.
  7. Cheers, when I traded the bandit in I left them on as I couldn't be arsed to have to buy new grips as I had cut the old ones off and was swapping bikes within a few days of doing the deal. Wish I had took them off now though
  8. I did this myself a few years ago with a Nokia phone. It fell out my fleece pocket mid flow and fell straight in the pan Instinct kicked in and my hand dived straight in to fish it out. I took the battery out and stuck it in the airing cupboard for a few hours and all was good
  9. I had heated grips fitted on my Bandit and apart from the obvious in keeping your hands warm they used to help me with an old injury when I tore a tendon in my wrist. This isn't really a "How Too" thread but thought I'd take a few pics as I went. Not the best quality pics' as I used my phone camera. Good tip for removing existing grips is to use compressed air. Unbolting the tank The tank is on a hinge so just used a bungee cord to hold it back. Notice how thin the tank is. Can't really see it but I routed the power lead from the battery along the left hand side of the frame through to the head stock Left hand grip fitted. Had to trim some of the rubber off at the end for the bar end to fit. Right hand grip fitted, had to trim quite a bit more rubber off so the throttle could easily return as once the bar end was fitted it rubbed on the grip making the throttle stick. Bar ends fitted. Cables all routed together under the screen I had to modify the bracket that came with the kit and fitted the control unit. Bike fired up and grips nice and toasty Little update...... I disconnected the live feed from the battery and connected it to a switched live using a scotch clip so there's no chance of me forgetting to turn them off. Scotch clip courtesy of my good friend Jezza (he made me say that) And as they say job's a good 'un
  10. I've said it many times before but its worth giving these plugs a try if you haven't already. They are ok for smaller ear canals too as once rolled between thUmb and finger they become quite thin and once they've expanded are very comfortable too.
  11. Cool pics, I really wanna go across the stream and ride a bit in France. done a bit around Britain and rode a little in the U.S. but quite fancey France.
  12. We've all been guilty of it at some point mate but your confidence is back/coming back as we've had a couple of outings out together since then and you rode alright to me.
  13. Your gonna be in pain for months and bleed like a virgin who's just popped her cherry The sweat will be dripping off your brow and you'll be thinking "i'd rather have been spit roasted by Dave and Stu" Apart from that you should be ok, all the best
  14. Why get wound up about what someone else wants to to their bike ? It really makes me laugh on how critical some people are about what others do to them. Its usually people that are not into or have not done the camping or weekend away thing that are the most critical and have not had the experience or benifit of using a top box or panniers. I'll be the first to say that they are fugley and if it wasn't for the ease of a 5 minute job of taking my rack off I'd leave it on because at the end of the day I'm facing the other way riding my bike that same way as I normally would with a great big grin on my chops not giving a flying rats ass what others thought. So let's chill out with a big glass of what ever Gaz is on when he posts them weird hippie YouTube videos
  15. Dave are you out of your mind ? its a monstrous abomination and travesty to all 2 wheeled vehicles........... which is what the motorcycle luggage police brigade will say. Or on the other hand just like mine it's not the best looking thing but will serve its purpose very well
