I had heated grips fitted on my Bandit and apart from the obvious in keeping your hands warm they used to help me with an old injury when I tore a tendon in my wrist. This isn't really a "How Too" thread but thought I'd take a few pics as I went. Not the best quality pics' as I used my phone camera. Good tip for removing existing grips is to use compressed air. Unbolting the tank The tank is on a hinge so just used a bungee cord to hold it back. Notice how thin the tank is. Can't really see it but I routed the power lead from the battery along the left hand side of the frame through to the head stock Left hand grip fitted. Had to trim some of the rubber off at the end for the bar end to fit. Right hand grip fitted, had to trim quite a bit more rubber off so the throttle could easily return as once the bar end was fitted it rubbed on the grip making the throttle stick. Bar ends fitted. Cables all routed together under the screen I had to modify the bracket that came with the kit and fitted the control unit. Bike fired up and grips nice and toasty Little update...... I disconnected the live feed from the battery and connected it to a switched live using a scotch clip so there's no chance of me forgetting to turn them off. Scotch clip courtesy of my good friend Jezza (he made me say that) And as they say job's a good 'un

Why get wound up about what someone else wants to to their bike ? It really makes me laugh on how critical some people are about what others do to them. Its usually people that are not into or have not done the camping or weekend away thing that are the most critical and have not had the experience or benifit of using a top box or panniers. I'll be the first to say that they are fugley and if it wasn't for the ease of a 5 minute job of taking my rack off I'd leave it on because at the end of the day I'm facing the other way riding my bike that same way as I normally would with a great big grin on my chops not giving a flying rats ass what others thought. So let's chill out with a big glass of what ever Gaz is on when he posts them weird hippie YouTube videos
