  1. Shamelessly lifted from another forum http://www.kmstools.com/pages/competitor-79
  2. As a matter of fact mate I saw one in Classic Mechanics being advertised at £2,795 so you make a very valid point. It's just where to keep them all- and the Honda's going to be back here in a couple of months.
  3. I know it's close to a standing joke by now, but I have actually managed some progress on my B12 this week. Forks are back in having replaced the seals, charged the battery, fired it up & rode it round the car park at work. Just got to sort out the flash rate on my mini indies and then I can consider taking it in for MOT. Mind you I'm still in a dilemma about what to do about selling it or getting it fully road legal and keeping it while I can afford to.
  4. Kirkby Lonsdale is a smashing little place. I'm thinking of a night or two there to walk some of the hills & dales. I'd like to go and see High Cup & Ingleborough. Unlikely to make the ride however as it looks like it may clash with my proposed trip to Spain to fetch my VFR back.
  5. Trouble is by the time I'm out of church it's half the day gone.
  6. There's a group meeting at the Greyhound in Cromford, 10 a.m for 10.30 departure if anyone wants to tag along with them. I'm thinking of going that way, up the Via Gellia to the A515, then across via Crowdecote & Longnor onto the A53, then north to Buxton. That's if I go at all, depends on work as ever. Will update probably tomorrow evening.
  7. Bump. For anyone not going chippie with Dave
  8. Really Dave you want a base layer, and a mid layer. That's how us rufty tufty outdoors types dress to stay toasty. A base layer is what it says, no more than
  9. Great news! That's about 2 mins drive from the office
  10. So sorry to hear this Dick, I know only too well the feelings you're experiencing. Take comfort from the fact that the suffering is over. Sincere condolences. Alan
  11. Well, look, I ride a ZZR1200 and they aren't likely to win any beauty contests. I think the 1400 is possibly even worse, but would it stop me from owning one? Hell, no. And my Speed Triple is probably close to a Marmite bike too. It's what it's like when you're sitting on it that is the ultimate arbiter of a good bike, and on that basis I'm happy with all of mine. Keep the faith Dave PS it's about 22 degrees here and I'm having a coffee sitting about 50 yards from the sea. Hopefully going out on the bike later (it started first prod BTW) Just so you know
  12. I'll have to wait & see mate. Just making final bits of packing etc, off to E Mids airport in about an hour. Hopefully I'll be out on that VFR this weekend.
  13. What, you mean about this year's TT being cancelled?
  14. It's just no fun hanging around Matlock any more. Before I got thrown back into wage slavery I used to go out midweek-much better all round.
  15. Looking good have you washed the salt off. Even I have
  16. It looks like I may be on for this after all. If so I'll make my own way to the caff & join you there.
  17. Nice part of the world round there Dave. I'm driving to Cardiff to move my son out of his Uni digs, otherwise I'd be out with you. Have a good day dude PS if you carry on over the A515 towards Longnor via the Crowdecote Inn there's some decent views to be had from the road, including the Dragon's Back. Plus you will then have also visited Staffs so it's a more epic ride.
  18. We completed sale of my parents' bungalow yesterday, and the solicitor has just forwarded my half of the proceeds. For the first time in 30 odd years I have more money than liabilities. It's a very strange feeling but anyway, thanks mum, thanks dad. I won't forget you.
  19. Found this http://www.matlockbathparishcouncil.gov.uk/attachments/115_Notes%20parking%20meeting.pdf
  20. An out of towner has posted on the VFR forum asking what the parking situation is on Sundays at Matlock Bath. There was talk of charging although I've never paid. Anyone got bona fide info on it?
  21. I've looked at their website a few times. Looks expensive but well made.
  22. I wasn't done in time to make the run I'm afraid. Did get an hour's ride out on the bike though and yes, it was cold. Good work Dave, thought there'd be a few more than that mind.
  23. Swiped this from another forum. So funny but not for the prudish. You have been warned
  24. On the settee with my wife & sis in law waiting for the big Corrie courtroom drama
  25. Doubtful Dave irrespective of weather. Sold Dad's bungalow and exchanged contracts. All happened very quickly and completion is April 2nd. Got to finish emptying the house, get his car taxed & tested for my son. And I've got a foreigner on this Saturday need the cash dude
