  1. Yes, the weight of the bike articulates the swingarm and will give a different tension to when the swingarm is unloaded, such as on stands. It's the same principle which causes jackup plates to bugger your chain tension.
  2. I passed Donington services just before 9 this morning on the way to Barwell, thought of calling in. Glad you enjoyed it mate, maybe I'll have my S3 in time for the next one.
  3. Dude, that is such a great choice. In many respects better than Big Brother according to those in the know. Enjoy!!
  4. welcome mate. A cheque that size would get you a nice speed Triple
  5. Just FYI chaps I've got a foreigner on so won't be going. Gotta pay for the insurance on my S3!! Have a good time if you go anyhoo
  6. According to Ryanair's website Michael O'leary has already been appointed.
  7. that was our breakfast venue before going ferreting. You'll want a kip after one of their breakfasts PS mixed views on Grindleford http://russelldavies.typepad.com/eggbaconchipsandbeans/2004/07/grindleford_sta.html
  8. By the way the pick of that list is Grindleford. Quite a well known walkers cafe with a unique take on customer service.
  9. I'll see how work is Dave but I'm in if I've got time. Mind you, I think I'd go straight to the Limes, assuming it's the one near Bilsthorpe.
  10. I bought this shock with a view to fitting it on my Bandit, but really it's too long for the MkI. Can't remember what year Busa it came off but makes a good upgrade for later Bandits. Anyone prepared to give me £35 to save the hassle of Ebaying it?
  11. Well, I've wired the rest of the payment so I guess I now own a Speed Triple I think I'll take the offer of delivery-I'm working pretty much seven days a week at the moment so it would be very helpful. Once I've done the insurance they can tax it so a week or two tops it should be home. One problem though-it's not an easy bike to find pannier racks for.
  12. It's like this one, has a belly pan fitted too. Laters http://www.fastbikesmag.com/files/2010/11/Speed-Triple-2.jpg
  13. Right, just a quick update before we go out. Deposit paid, they're putting 12 months tax on it and if I'm too busy in the next week or two they will deliver it at no charge. Hope I've done the right thing nah I'm chuffed, can't wait for Spring now.
  14. So broadly Stan they are paying around 4% of their gross earnings for housing and food, with all the trimmings. When you put it like that I'd say it's pretty clear who gets the best end of the deal. They could, and in my view should, be paying more. You'd be a lucky man indeed if you could afford to keep them off your own earnings. Both my lads are still at Uni, and the strain on us in recent years has been massive. They are taking the pi** and you ought to tell them so mate.
  15. It just so happens that there was a promising looking bike for sale not 20 miles from my job today. Seemed rude not to view, so I did. 2010 Speed Triple SE, low miles, FSH, brand new rear tyre, carbon hugger, spotless.Very keen and I suspect I'll be phoning in the morning to give a deposit.
  16. Always been a fan of the Big Twin
  17. I have just emailed an enquiry on a Speed Triple SE. Need to move that Bandit on first really though. I'd best sort it out & post it on here.
  18. We put mum & dad's bungalow up for sale after Xmas, & got an offer which we accepted last week. Estate agents are happy that buyers have the ability to pay, and there's virtually no chain to worry about. So half of that looks like being in my bank in the not too distant future. I can feel a Speed Triple coming on but sure gives you some mixed feelings. When the bungalow's gone I've got virtually nothing tangible that connects me to my parents. Bitter sweet really.
  19. There is nothing wrong with a suzuki To be fair I do own a Bandit
  20. You can't possibly be considering swapping a Kawasaki for a Suzuki anyway can you?
  21. I was at CMC in Clay Cross yesterday & they have a couple of Busas in if you want to take a look.
  22. Check out the testimonial for this no win no fee outfit. Scroll down the page & it's on the right hand side. Brutally honest at least http://www.accidentclaims.org/
  23. Well, I finally took that Aprilia Tuono out today. Long story short, if I had to make a choice today I'd go for a Speed Triple. That said, I can see myself owning a Tuono, but I think they may take a bit more getting used to. No rush, keep checking on t'internet but a nice 08-09 S3 in orange is looking like the front runner just at present.
  24. welcome aboard mate. Nowt wrong with getting to the point either
