    boots

Long with shin & ankle protection. don't do it by halves-if I'd had proper boots on in 2003 chances are I wouldn't have half of B & Q in my knee now.
  2. Yes I'm still using my son's Specialized Rockhopper which is an excellent bike.
  3. You'll be needing Promenade Sports on the, erm, Promenade then. Does all manner of TT related garments. If you get to speak to Mervyn give him my name. Not that it's likely to get you a discount, but you never know!
  4. I've got an Autocom sat in the garage. I would like to upgrade to the Scala setup when I can afford such luxuries. I will say we found an intercom to be a great way to tolerate long mileages. I reckon it's worth 100 miles a day extra
  5. My eyes are still blurry-just got up. I thought it said Shitty for sale. I think it should have done
  6. It's a section of the Police Reform Act which basically allows plod to issue a ticket for using a motor vehicle in a manner likely to cause harm, distress or bedwetting. Essentially a jobsworth's charter to fire off tickets at anyone having a bit of fun. Welcome to Blair's Britain OK Macie you beat me to it.
  7. I'll bet either of those would wheelie like a supermoto
  8. Yeah my lad got one for spinning his wheels coming out the local Texaco. FFS, there must be more pressing issues at hand for the local plod. Tough break man-wrong place wrong time.
  9. Were you off road or on the public highway mate? Not that it matters, I'm just curious
  10. Everything Jezza said speaking of seat pads my wife has an Airhawk inflatable which she said makes a massive difference to long range comfort. They don't come cheap but may prove a good investment. I've also got a pair of Oxford throw over panniers if you want some extra space without bolting further crap onto the bike. Take old underwear which you are prepared to bin after use, and shave your head so as to avoid the need for shampoo & conditioner.
  11. Well done you! Of course, you do realise that Portmeirion is where they filmed The Prisoner
  12. When I took my Kawasaki wheel in yesterday to have the tyre fitted my fitter mate pointed out a tyre in the corner. He'd taken it off a bike but kept it as it was in pretty good nick. So he said do I want it-so I had it not even half worn Bridgestone 020 front 120/70 ZR17. I might use it or keep it as a get out of jail spare but tbh I'm pretty sorted for tyres now so if anyone needs one, PM me and I'll let it go for a small consideration. If I can get a bit to pay for fitment of my VFR front Maxxis that would do me. Not sure if this should be in classifieds-over to you Mods.
  13. You need a nice old B12 mate. Pref low mileage in maroon.......
  14. And for good measure I've just got the VFR fired up, done the MoT checks, best get that one booked in too.
  15. My son's been round there in his supercharged GTi6 Peugeot. GPS clocked him at 149mph. Not bad for a little French shopping car
  16. Well, I got my new Maxxis on the rear yesterday, and my front brake pads have just arrived. MoT due by the 21st of this month so for once I'm ahead of schedule. Just need to use the bloody thing now!!
  17. Just replaced the rear on my ZZR, bit disappointed there was some tread left in the centre but I won't have time to do in the next couple of weeks. It was only about 0.1mm though
  18. The centre of the tread is about ready to disappear and my new Maxxis rear should arrive tomorrow.
  19. I generally buy consumables from wemoto who are keen on price, carry a good range of stuff, and respond promptly. You can actually enter your bike details and it lists off everything they stock for it. Forget hoses, most overrated mod going unless you're planning regular and frequent crash stops. They look nice though. And unless your bike has high mileage or spends all it's life outside I'd suggest you're OK with what you've got. My 98 B12 has excellent, all original brakes. I've fitted stainless hoses on my ZZR and they're still underwhelming. Trust me mate, in the ordinary world which I inhabit a set of organic pads does very nicely and doesn't pound the shit out of the discs.
  20. Worried? I'd be doing cartwheels down the street. I couldn't imagine doing a decent bike tour without me trouble & strife.
  21. I'd have to disagree with that mate-when I put the brakes on I want to be sure of what's in there, so if that means spending an extra tenner, so be it. I've had EBC in all my bikes and they work well without grabbing, and they're kinder to discs than sintered metal ones. Recommended
  22. Nice work Dave, I guess you've earned a drink so pissed I had to miss this one. I did get a couple of hundred miles in on the bike I guess but not quite the same when you're going to work!
