  1. I've had a guy wanting a service on his machine for quite some time, but struggled with flight prices & time (I'm working full time) so I floated the idea of riding over. I can carry more gear and costwise it's pretty much par. He's OK with it so it looks like Calais to Amsterdam on Saturday, all paid Only problem is my mum's gravely ill and I'm worried that I'll do all this and have to cancel if mum takes a turn for the worse. The horns of a dilemma eh?
  2. Had to change the thermocouple a month or two back. It's nice to be a bit handy what with the cost of tradesmen, not to mention the waiting.
  3. Can't believe they've put Gatsos up at all. They're yesterday's technology-but the M25 is no place to be speeding even if you're lucky enough to see some clear road.
  4. Had a rollover already mate. Carlene's car rolled over the road!
  5. I've got to get around to selling my Bandit 12 I know, and until my VFR goes to Spain I'm stuck for space, but if the business does OK over the next couple of months I think I should spoil myself with another cheap bike. Always wanted a big V twin, in fact I've looked at V Strom and SV1000S, but I've found myself smitten by these. What do you think gang? Sorry about the eye candy on pic 1
  6. Nice pic Pixie, I've got that on my PC. And she's some munter cos that's a ZZR110 underneath her
  7. Came out of the house tonight to find my neighbour's car in the middle of the road embedded in the wife's Hyundai Coupe. First decent car we've had in years, and here I am with another insurance claim to deal with. Apparently the car just rolled across the road (no one driving) until something stopped it What with everything else recently, I reckon I must have shot a robin or something.
  8. Welcome to the big K mate. A very fine bike too if I may say so. Don't do Facefook so get some pics up please!
  9. I spoke to him on the phone this afto when he came in from a ride out. I expect he's leathered by now
  10. Tenner less than DK who I tend to buy from. Touring tyres are same price which I generally go for on my ZZR. Good work mate
  11. Well if it's a red V5C I'd say it's kosher. When was the last change of owner on the reg doc?
  12. Well, a couple of things. First, have you looked for the frame number on the bike itself? Kawasakis often don't have a VIN plate, it will be stamped along the steering head tube. Second, a little story about my ZZR1200. I took it for test a few years back and the examiner reckoned I'd got the wrong bike. The computer coughed up ZX12 for my frame & reg number, and of course the decals said ZZR. He thought I was up to no good until I explained the American nomenclature for these bikes. So there are certainly possible anomalies which are perfectly above board. That said, I don't get how a V5C was issued without a frame/VIN number. Is it one of the red fronted ones or an old blue type?
  13. Fortune favours the brave-just been the scenic route to fill up at Tesco and it was rather pleasant although a chap on a Bandit scared me somewhat with a late braking decision when I had right of way exiting a roundabout. Forward observation, dude
  14. I can't type fast enough to keep up but really ought to try a bit harder.
  15. Hypoid gear oil, cheap, and with the added bonus of the aroma of burnt oil when if gets on your zorsts. Proper biking
  16. For those of you considering an alternative to waxing or shaving, why not try Veet? This punter did..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R231U4ZG0YDNHD
  17. Well, just so long as he hasn't run off with Rose
  18. Yeah, I was wondering that myself. Is he on a sabbatical or summat?
  19. I've always found the French to be charming, helpful and polite. Got me out of a fix on the A26 some years ago. And the further south you get, the nicer they become
  20. work work work I'm afraid. Be safe and have fun if you're lucky enough to be out & about.
  21. Dick, if you've got a set of metric drills see which one fits into your existing nuts round it up to the next size and that will most likely be the thread size. Or just measure across the stud which the nuts fasten onto. I would guess M6 (10mm spanner) is the most likely size-M10 is a good size and way over the top for a mirror bolt. That's kind of footrest fixing size or similar.
  22. Thanks all. I'm in Barcelona Sants station got a couple of hours to kill so using MacDonald's free Wifi No bike over here at the moment but decent looking forecast for the weekend Laters all
  23. Stop Press! Wifey's found my passport! Can't get a hire car but let the train take the strain eh?
