  1. Track rod end is a possible, or the drive shaft universal joint is on the way out. PS: that said, I'd still want to be sure that the wishbone ball joint was OK
  2. Everyone should do Assen once. I'd go for the Dutch TT myself as opposed to superbikes. The send off from the locals along the motorway was unforgettable.
  3. Well, erm, confession. I've done it a couple of times myself-150 in Scotland a few years ago & 155 on the A50 last year. It's not big & it's not clever, but it's quite exciting.
  4. If you're visiting Nottingham Castle and haven't seen it before, prepare to be underwhelmed the Luddites burned down the original building and now it's basically a big house. If you want a pukka mediaeval castle try Warwick. But the ride up from Bourton via the Fosse is a pleasant enough bimble. Of course in Kidderminster you're not so far from Telford country. Industrial revolution & all that jazz.
  5. also wish her happy birthday , but she met new friends and forgot all the help she had from buiding her bike , and takes all her time to speak when you see her at local meets Mondo bummer!!
  6. Not seen Caroline post on here for quite a time. Have I just missed her or is she not on here much? Anyhow, happy birthday!
  7. A quick heads up for the Triumph Owners egg run. Sunday April 1st, leaves Red Lion in Bottesford at 11am. Arrive Grantham 11.30 before dispersing into smaller groups to deliver eggs to around 16 homes in the area. It's usually a good ride this one with a good turnout of interesting bikes.
  8. I'll have a bit of a ferret for you Dave
  9. If you're anywhere near Plymouth the best place is the Crooked Inn, just off the A38 near Tamar Bridge. Not particularly cheap but a real characterful place with great rooms, great staff and a half decent draught scrumpy.
  10. Not for me I'm afraid. We're doing a big trade show at the NEC which has taken up all my weekend so it's been a bit of a downer.
  11. Get the Santander ferry Macie. Awesome ship gets you Plymouth -Santander in 20 hrs. I'm going on it in June, doing the N-260 on the way to our flat in Spain. Can't wait
  12. Yep, I'm with previous two posters. Autoroute blast for a day or two (I know some good places for o/night stops) hit the Pyrenees/Languedoc/Roussillon. It's ****ing heaven mate

    greetings

welcome mate. Is Thame near Shillingford Bridge? Rings a bell, I don't know if maybe I pass through on the way to Wallingford.
  14. Three of my favourite words-big road trip. Wish I could do more. Don't hire a bike on site, that's cheating. It wouldn't then be a Big Road Trip after all I'm afraid it doesn't come cheap though, but you can do a decent trip without extending the mortgage. France, Germany, the Low Countries are all withing easy reach. Do it mate
  15. I've had £60 of shopping on my ZZR. Chap in the car park was spellbound wondering if it would all go in, but the Givis had space to spare. Should have bought a barbecue
  16. If you want finish that lasts, buy Honda. Simple as. Kawasaki have improved, but sometimes I think my Bandit might be made of sugar.
  17. Some years ago, in a previous life, I was a MAG rep. I wrote to Morrison's head office asking to put Spills Kill stickers on the diesel pumps. Never even got a reply. Don't hold your breath Gaz.
  18. It's a pretty thirsty engine that one mate. You might do well to get on the SV1000 forum-they had a really good tech section. Csn't remember the actual name although I am a registered member from the time I was really keen on buying one. Still am for that matter, all I need is the money & space
  19. Just voted V four although I do like a triple. Rode a friend's Benelli Sei (inline 6) years ago and it was like riding a church organ but a V4 is to me the perfect blend of torque, revs, and sound. When I had my old VFR800 FI with the race can I thought I was Joey Dunlop.
  20. Not seen that one before, but I'll guess it shares that rather nice 350cc V twin which was used in the unimaginatively named Morini 3 1/2
  21. I will say I've become pretty good at spotting the roadside ones having driven in Scotland a fair bit with my new job. The porridge wogs love nothing more than ticketing a Sassenach. Grampian Constabulary, we love you. I know, I've broken the rules. Just had to be said though.
  22. 16. That one through the trees is a bit daft since you simply can't see it. Still, I could have got 9 points there
  23. i get on the back you can take me with you Think the wife might have something to say about that
  24. It's the weekend before I ride to Spain but I hope I can make it
