  1. Grumpy, there's a company in the UK does bar risers for a lot of bikes but can't remember the name. Something like mototouring. They did nice aluminium ones for a spit under £100. I'll see if I can find it & post you a link Bit more than I thought. Anyway, two kits, 19mm & 38mm raise. http://www.sportouring.com/part.php?itemGroup=2&bikeModel=GSX1300%20-%20Hayabusa%202008%20%20%20%20%201%201/4%20inch http://www.sportouring.com/part.php?itemGroup=2&bikeModel=GSX1300%20-%20Hayabusa%202008%203/4%20inch Actually no, the ZZR1200 fitting is £89.99. Thing with the 'Busa is it's effectively a complete top yoke.
  2. Yeah turned the garage upside down yesterday can't find my daft little flags to fix on the car But yes, enjoy everyone. I wouldn't make too much of the English thing mind-we share Boy George with a lot of people, not least the Catalans. They normally hold book fairs . and let's not forget St George himself was Armenian. Bloody immigrants
  3. I have terrible ZIP memories from when I was a little boy. My NAN had to save the day. Shades of There's Something About Mary maybe Grumpy? "We got a bleeder...."
  4. Well spotted Pug. On the road for £850 then Jim.
  5. Design brief: take a bike that's iconic and just about the right side of understated, and made a complete tart's handbag out of it. WTF was he thinking?? People like this should stick to Harleys, or better still, Viragos. Sorry absolutely not my cup of tea. Edit OMG are they pike nuts on the back? This person should be flogged with barbed wire.
  6. TBH Jim at that money you're looking at Ebay or possibly the "back room" of a decent dealer. I've seen decent VFRs below £1500 but still over your budget. Something like a GS500 might be worth casting around for-very tough motor and lots around.
  7. Nice one-I'm thinking about viewing a ZX7-R this weekend but I'm afraid I might buy it!
  8. Who remembers 1966 when we managed to lose the World Cup?
  9. If possible leave the replacement plates in an oil bath overnight to impregnate the linings. If it's been used before not quite so important mind.
  10. Thought about this but I'm going to stay home this Easter & try to save a few bob to get out the country next weekend if I can afford it. Fingers crossed
  11. It's just us sewing thread cognoscenti being daft Jax. A cotton thread is spun around a polyester core to give a strong thread with a good "feel". Ergo, corespun
  12. well don't ask for recipes for steak & kidney pie! Sorry Jax can't help you much on this one
  13. Which of course needs to be corespun.
  14. Try the market Dave. A decent haberdasher should sort you out BTW a shoe repair place might be worth asking about fitting it as sewing leather is a bit of a specialist job.
  15. Decent set of forks and brakes from a much underrated bike. And the price looks pretty good Just one thought-aren't they going to be bigger diameters than a KZ750? Might have some work to do on the top yoke.
  16. I think I paid more than that last year That said, all he does is smoke fags & beef about his neighbours. Then he prats about with the brakes, toots the horn & does the leccys, then issues the certificate. Back of the net!!
  17. I wouldn't mind whizzing up to have a half hour with you Dave. Should be done work at a reasonable time.
  18. I actually carry my own ratchet strap & fix the bike down myself. Never had a problem TBH, it's come a long way since they tied my Z650 chop to the pipework running along the side of the ship I wouldn't worry too much if it was me mate.
  19. I was in two minds about it tonight but one trip to Lestoh per day is my limit got paid for a factory clearance which involved about an hour's work. Nice one
  20. WTF is Rab C Nesbitt doing fixing up old Yams?
  21. perhaps I should have been clearer in my reply. Always remember the KISS acronym. I just kind of assumed you'd realise what I was getting at. Whereabouts in the UK are you mate? I bet someone local would offer you a bit of help
