  1. Found out through Facebook the car pulled out in front of him,he was thrown across the road and hit by another bike coming the other way. He was taken to hospital with head injuries. Could mean anything really that.
  2. http://www.bikersviewuk.co.uk Takes a bit of finding this place but the foods good and theres plenty of it. They dont have fixed prices you just donate what you think your foods worth. A good starting point for a run round Derbyshire situated a couple of miles south of Clay Cross on the A61.
  3. went to the YZF day at CMC today and just as we got there two lads set off one on an R1 the other on an Srad. They had just disapeared out of view when there was the sickening sound of a bike hitting a car. Everybody ran up to the road and the Srad rider was laying in the road with his bike at the side of him. Sorry I can't say how he is but the police closed the road and the ambulance was till there when we left.It looked like somebody had pulled out of either a road or car park across the front of him, probably saw the R1 and didn't think there was anybody behind him. Lesson to be learned from this when riding in a group, either ride so close together that nobody can pull out between you or so far apart that they can do safely and move across your lane as you approach cars at junctions waiting to pull out.

  5. dont buy a cheap set, if you break one you'll never get it out of the hole unless you spark erode it out.
  6. might make one for this but it depends how the Mrs is, she's going in for an op on her elbow on 12th March and the other one son after hopefully.
  7. Quick shifters are only for changing up the gears you still need to use the clutch to go down unless you like stripping gearboxes down to replace gears.
  8. I had a Meta on my ZX12R, a Datatool on my second Fireblade and my Mrs has a Meta on her GSXR750 and they all did this.
  9. and if half a dozen knuckle dragging neanderthals pull up in front of your bike in a van, jump out and lift it in the back with a couple of scaffold poles what goods an alarm going to do, are you really going to go and tackle them? If your really concerned the only sure fire way to put them off is to carry a big lock and chain around and chain it to a bit of street furniture every time you leave it.
  10. +1 , Ive had alarms on every bike I've owned up till this one and theyre nothing but a right PITA. nobody takes any notice of them anyway just be a bit more careful about leaving your bike unattended.
  11. so he refused points and a fine that were offered by the police and prefered to take it to court and fight the case, then didn't even turn up for his hearing and wonders why he got £885 fine and eight points. If theyve got you bang to rights, which they had, it's usually better to just fess up and take the punishment.
  12. You probably havent crossed the threads but running the engine with a plug loose will allow schrchingly hot gasses to escape through the plug threads maybe damaging them and probably gamming them up with soot. Also if the plug is loose enough to move it will rattle in the threads with every induction/ compression stroke of the enging. If you haven't done any damage you are very lucky.
  13. thats the one, if you register as a professional they send you free tickets.

  15. Giving it a miss this year. Been for the last 2 years and its a bit expensive for us what with the distance and having to stop in a hotel. Might try the British Shooting show instead for a change. Never done that before.

  18. its the switch that needs adjusting if the wheels not dragging, look around the brake pedal it should have a thread with a big plastic nut, just loosen it till the light goes out. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/290761569214?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0
  19. We got about 4 inches last night and the met office are saying theres worse to come over the next 4 hours then temperatures will drop to -2 overnight so it will take days for it to melt round our way.
  20. just started here and were in for 6 hours of heavy snow then another 12 of light snow..great.
  21. well worth trying to get to hear the interviews of John Reynolds by Steve Plater. I bought a brake piston spreader thingy and a pair of oil filter pliers. I was trying to get an hydraulic cable lubricator but no luck so I got one off ebay instead. It was really busy up till about 2.00pm then there was a mass exodus and you could see everything.I'll get some pictures up in a bit.
  22. its all indoors Dave theres nothing outside this year.as is usually the case with shows every year they get smaller and smaller.
  23. personally I wouldn't risk a cheap no name chain, if it snaps on you it can wreck your engine casings, wrap itself around your leg or have you off the bike.
  24. I'll be there on Saturday as well unless we get a repeat performance with this snow.
