  1. Mine, and some other I've ridden, suffer from "loading up" the back torque limiter when I decelerate, and I get a CLUNK when I pull away again, going down through the gears approaching traffic lights for instance. Some do it, some don't. The BTL also spoils the clutch on real hard launches. For quick get-always or launches as the drags its hard to get a smooth launch using lots of revs and slipping the clutch. I grew up with Katana's, Z1000's, GSX's, XT500's etc. You soon learnt NOT to bang it down the gears as you'd lock up the rear wheel. I don't think I'll miss it. I do understand its use, and maybe novice riders or wanna-be GP racers will benifit, but there are quite a few Busa and King owners who don't like it, hence the kits to remove it. My GSX14 is much nicer as is my mates GSXR1000. Better design maybe. To be fair, many owners don't mind it.
  2. So's mine, but it wont be when I "fix it". Hate it, mine's going in the bin. http://www.brocksperformance.com/Ultra-Clutch-Mod-Billet-Steel+I270175+C29.aspx
  3. No, credit go's to you... I got the easy option... Got a couple of bigger rides coming up soon when it cools down a little. One is 400 miles to get to motel (day 1) a full day on some great twisty roads (day two) Ride home again 400 miles (day 3) 1000 miles of twisty roads on a long weekend....
  4. Razor blade won't help the crap that's bulging on the inside and getting into oil ways and everywhere else you don't want it. Buy a gasket or at least gasket paper. Crap stuff rarely used as it should be.

    Poll

If they are good leathers wear them, Pretty colours only impressive the posers not the serious riders.
  6. Is there a reason for such long header pipes before the 4 into 1 collecter? Does if move the power up or down the rev range compared to the traditional position ? Was there a reason for it ?
  7. To be honest Dave, this isn't a great time of year to be out on a bike here. My pics look OK but I ride with some sporty guys on twisty roads. I always wear leather jacket/jeans/bike boots with them. The heat is a killer, I was glad to be home by 11am. Sun's out, bikes fueled up but I was glad to be back in the aircon. I think the middle of the year is better for both of us, your summer, our cooler, dryer winter.
  8. Met a few mates at Yatala, did .... Beaudesert, Boonah, Lake Moogerah (Coffee/Breakfast) back roads to Rathdowney, Beaudesert, home. Only 309k's ( 192 miles ) Home by 11am when its starting to warm up.
  9. Hi Mick, I'm poor on $'s, but rich in quality of life as fortunately I no longer live in the UK. ( or NSW! ) Welcome.
  10. I'd love a go on that! I found the stock bike a bit disappointing. Wouldn't pull a high gear at low speed like a nice big smooth 4 will and ran out of top end much too soon. Probably me, 4's suit me better. Love to try a boosted one though.
  11. Not sure. Looking at the frame around the tank / seat I was thinking GSXR "SRAD" ?
  12. Saw this posted elsewhere, Owner seemed quite proud, and no one was taking the p#ss out of him. Must be just me then.....
  13. Same guy (Scotty) has his VFR on the front cover of the latest Streetfighter magazine
  14. No secret the GSX14 would be my choice but the XJR is a great bike. Got a few mates with them. Out here the ZRX, CB13 and GSX14 have all been dropped but the XJR is the only big jap retro naked on sale (other than the piss poor new CB1100) A lot of the XJR seem's easier to directly trace back to the FJ range where as the GSX was a solo stand alone motor. In some instances this is in the XJR's favour. Only thing I wasnt over impressed with was the XJR Ohlins, pretty sure Yam had a major share in Ohlins at the time and could put their stickers and gold paint on anything they fancied. The stock XJR Ohlins are not the top end aftermarket stuff folk drool over. Nice bike, great choice....
  15. Was watching "faster" the motoGP movie last night. This thread made me think of Rossi going from 11th to 1st near the end of his Yamaha ride because he wanted to get the "46" wins on a Yam. Brilliant ride. The first 5 minutes with the two Yams battling it out gives me hope for 2013.
  16. Found the BBQ cover. Fetched the dogs bowl back from next doors yard. Picked up the palms / branches. Just been on the roof and fixed a few tiles. two story house with a steep roof, not sure if the sweat was the heat or fear! Just got the power back on. Mrs drives me mad at night with no air-con or ceiling fan. All good here, news shows Bunderberg and a few other towns with rivers and creeks still rising though.
  17. Water in the roof. Not lights in house. Not a drama, will give it chance to dry out and check everything. Rain was being driven up under the tiles. Rain stopped, suns out. Beautiful day. Where I took the pics of Kedron Brook near my home a woman took her 3 year old son down to see the flooded brook. Tree collapsed on them, killed the little boy. Water still rising so some floods getting worse but its not flash floods so folk have plenty of time to act.
  18. Not normaly, but If I ride a bike with a key ring it needs to be the right way up. Borrowed a dealer loan bike, and as I pulled out of the shop I had to stop, remove the key and turn it around. I like to think im not superstitious, Mrs just says im OCD... Cant have tin's of WD40 / MrSheene etc on the shelf if they're not facing the same way...
  19. Dont care how fit they look, not having a woman near my bike with a bucket of soapy water. Watched bikini babes at a bike wash down the Gold Coast drop the sponge in the dirt/gravel, pick it up and carry on washing !!! FARK!
  20. 3 dead, including a lad washed off his motorbike, several more missing. Some houses distroyed, many without power. Rain's stopped but water levels are still climbing. Kedron Brook near me. Less than a week a go Lenny (the dog!) and I walked across it, crossing the 2 or 3m wide stream on the stepping stones......
  21. Had an identical thing happen here late last year. Guy died when the bike he'd stolen crashed. I got grief for saying "so what". I was only sorry the owner had his bike crashed. The world gas gone soft. What was he going to get if he'd been caught? What was he going to do next if he hasn't been? To many low life's not contributing to society, one less isnt much but it's a start. Sorry, but no sympathy from me. He removed himself from the system as not as if anyone has to shoulder the responsibility.
  22. Had full-on torrential rain for two days! No lights working in the house,, half gardens under water, one leak in the ceiling, tree's down across the roads. Worse further North, Roof's off house's, at least one dead.. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/tornado-warning-issued-as-ex-cyclone-oswald-bears-down-on-southeast/story-e6freoof-1226562642052
