For what its worth....... I've had this screen on a couple of bikes. Hard to tell any difference to me. Never really liked the look of it. Its sat on a shelf gathering dust. Funny enough, I went to twin Dominators too, (and the screen really didnt suit them) and the original round headlight went to turn my faired Bandit into a naked model.

gps speedo
Tony nitrous replied to madcarper's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
Im looking at clocks for the 14. I was interested in GPS types but one of my regular runs is a 4 mile long tunnel, 60m under the river, 10m under the bedrock. It has 4 speed camera's and my GPS isnt a lot of use down there. (although the GSX's open pipes in 2nd gear at 80kph sound like the gates of Hell have been opened!) -
Yeah, I've been watching the 750 Turbo's since they came out. I posted a link to Lorcan's site earlier. A mate in the UK has 3 complete 750 turbo's and one in bits in his garage. They havent moved in 10 years and he refuses to sell ! I always fancied putting a motor into an early wire wheel z650. (its been done) or a 750 Zephyr (been done too). If anyone on here has any class, style, taste, yours will soon be sold Paul...

LOVE IT !! If I was in the UK i'd grab it in a second. For those that aren't as old as some of us, Yes, the 4 four all made Turbo bikes. I wouldnt take a CX, XN or XJ Turbo home if you gave it me, but the Zed turbo was a gem. Ridden a few, useable and brilliant fun.... One of the few non-Suzuki's on my wish list. http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/kawasaki/kawasaki_gpz750_turbo%2083.htm http://www.750turbo.com/

32 years on the road, had dirt bikes on the farm before that. Havent been without a bike for more than a week or two since I was 16. Stopped counting after the first 40+ bikes. Arrived in Australia in 2004, no job, no car, no house or home, no possesions, no Australian licence, no medi-care, didnt know a soul here, my life in a suitcase... ...so I bought a brand new Hayabusa with Yoshi pipes, polished wheels, black screen, etc etc... Got to have a bike...

It has an issue with the battery loseing charge. Dont think it battery or charging system related. Even with a flat battery you can jump start it, use it, and it charges up OK. Leave it a few days and its totaly flat. Two of the ASF guys with 14's say it could be due to the smashed clocks and the internal circuit board being damaged and open to the weather. I've pulled both the blue multi-plugs to disconect the clocks and charged the battery up. Will try it in a few days, see if it changes anything. Theres a bit of electrickery in the clocks but it still seems to start and run OK without them. Flicking through a few old mags I found a 14 with "Koso" clocks. Google took me here.... http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/rx2...nction-7-p.asp and http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/rx2...screen-2-p.asp Found a couple of new/unused Staintune baffles in my collection. Put one in the Yoshi. Bit too small and not real good looking but made a difference so it'll do as a temporary fix

rack for the king
Tony nitrous replied to Davehutch-hutchs's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
I need and want a tourer or at least something slightly more practical. Wont be a B-King for me though. No grab rail, small high seat, bodywork stops pillion gripping with their legs. ...not to mention the annoying 16ltr fuel tank. B-King makes a GREAT toy to clown about on, it would annoy the hell out of me as a pillion/ tourer/weekend away bike. Each to their own... -
Dont sound so suprised.... It might be turning up tomorrow (Thurs) night. Bit of a bugger because im off on a 3 day ride into NSW with the streetfighter guys very early on Friday morning, so cant start polishing / fixing / work on it untill next week. Our "April Fools" run's grew quite big, we ended up hireing a runway / campsite, booked bands, stalls etc. This year we have gone back to basic's. Just Forum members on a high mileage / high speed pub run. Cant wait !!

Yeah, few differences here. Your road tax includes basic 3rd person (not property) insurance, so anyone with a licence is legal to drive anything with a tax disc! Bad thing is if your a unemployed bum in a rental house, and you hit me, I have to claim off my own full comp if you havent taken insurance out. Good and bad.

You need an MOT here to change owners, if you sell it without you lose the plates back to the government and even if you keep them it become de-registered and plates deleted from the system. Its OK to sell it non-roadworthy, no plates or MOT. Good thing is once its been MOT'd, as long as you keep paying the rego (road tax) it never needs to be inspected ever again !
