Catch of the Day - 16 July 2010; 5 Years of Hot Wheels Part 1

Recommended Posts

Hmm no since 68 and classics in malaysia? Here in our place we have both, but the classics are series 4 only. There are lots of tail draggers btw and good thing is their all on sale at half the price. Congrats on all your cars!

Another eBay purchase... only this time it's through postage...

I'm planning to increase my Skyline collection bit by bit.
The price I paid was very worthy.
It's a pity that the seller insisted on postage while I asked for a local pick-up... Neutral

So frustrated... new stocks arrive here very very late...
MadMadMad

Anyway, was asked by Rayz if I could help him to look for some Since '68 cars.
Why not? Travelling is so cheap here and gives me the opportunity to do some scouting too...

And so I left for Suntec City after this week's last lecture...

This is Shaw Tower.
Across the road from Suntec City.
And you can't help but ask yourself: How can this thing has Hot Wheels inside?
(Actually I've did some research which indicated the possibility of finding Hot Wheels inside... study )

A very small toy shop with some Hot Wheels outside.
Look closely at the cards... They're old school...
More into what I got from here later...

One of the shops in Suntec City selling Regular Bone Shaker for $10.00.
Those with calcium-deficiency please rush over here and get them!
This is just me, the Bone Shaker actually irritates me... Too over-hyped I think...

Nothing interesting at all at both Carrefour and Toys 'R' Us, especially the later. SleepSleep
Found this at C4 which should interest some of you!

I am not ready for Matchbox yet but this is so-oh cool!

I had a thorough check on the freshly and fully stocked hanger. All 12 cars were on the hanger...
Resisted the temptation 'cos the cars are really good...

Going back to the Ford, is it inside this series because it was engineered in Britain?? scratchscratch

So, is Best of British available in Malaysia? scratch

My coup for the day. Apart from the Buick, the rest are from Shaw Towers and are pre-2007 cars...

So happy to get this...

IMO, this is better than a Bone Shaker any time. geek

I'm having bird flu now... the latest craze for me...

I have one albeit in black and with 5SP wheels.
This one in 10SP wheels looks great!

Sorry Rayz, couldn't get what you want but thank you 'cos you indirectly helped me in scoring these cars.
lol!lol!lol!

It's at level 2 and it's freaking small!

So, go get yourself a Superbird! pirat

superb catch man !
perhaps u should bring me go !

I don't know if he will restock them but I certainly don't mind if he restocks with old stocks!

The discouraging part was...
Me: Sir, how much does your Hot Wheels cost?
Shop Owner: Hot Wheels?? Where??? Can you show me??

They're all old cards.
All at $3.50 each.

Maybe I should have negotiated...

... went to IMM for dinner with girlfriend.
As CNY looms near, the place was very crowded, especially at Giant.
I am sure I was the only there looking for Hot Wheels, not mandarin oranges.
lol!

My eyes did not deceive me...
Not one, but 2 sparkling Honda Civic Si hanging on the shelf.
I have been looking for this for months.
Of course, I took only 1 since I needed just 1.
However, I did text one of our fellow members about this who happen to live close to IMM...
"You better come over here before it lands on the hands of some destructive kids..." Rolling Eyes

While digging through the rows of cards hopping to land myself another surprise, my girlfriend said to me: This one looks so cute.

The cute one happened to be this Karman Ghia, from another series; Kalifornia Kustoms.

I'm pretty sure I could have missed these series since they were placed on the lower section of the rack and my girlfriend being very short was the only one who could see it...
lol!

Okay, here are the ones worthy of being advertised here:

Drop-dead gorgeous! affraid

All come with rubber tires. Cool

And so, what I bought from IMM.

I decided to buy a second '56 Ford 'cos the one I have back home has a badly aligned air filter.
This one's nicely fitted.

Okay, so the GTO was very desirable but I always have a soft spot for Mustangs...

Oh no! Most of the cars in this series.... I want! affraidaffraid

Hood can be opened!!!

Don't we all love rubber??

I will post more pictures of the Mustang Mach I once I set the stallion out of its stable. drunken

TFL~
