  1. I just saw that Olympic/Samsung ad where Beckham bends the long ball to bang that gong. Then it struck me-in that weird close up of him grinning don't you think he looks like V in his Guy Fawkes mask?
  2. The 650? I rode the 1000cc model, really liked it. They do look like a very good all round bike.
  3. Life has a sense of humour. I've just been set up for a two day job in Cumbria, Mon/Tues. So near.....Anyways hope you all have a great time
  4. Called in this morning to order, and finished up with a discount of around £170 on two lids & a pair of boots. That's enough to buy the wife some trousers, or a jacket, or some boots..... still a long way to go then
  5. One of the results of my ride to Spain, and subsequent flight back, is that I left most of my bike kit over there. So, need to replace it. Two XR1100 lids and a pair of Alpinestars boots attracted a combined discount of £150 almost without effort on my part. Is it really so tough now that we are coming to a "name your own price" economy? Great for me of course, but Jeez, where will it end?
  6. Where's the stream dude? Not Dovedale is it?
  7. Not sure Rossi would go back as potential no 2 to wee Georgie, who could even be world champ as well. But, nunca se sabe cos in truth all these other riders are clearly not in the same class as Rossi, Lorenzo or Pedrosa. Too many flatter to deceive it seems to me. Maybe some of the younger guys should be given a chance.
  8. I stopped the DD with the Bank and will take it to the FSA if I have to. Good for you. I wish you bon chance In fairness to Nashy they were brilliant in repatriating my ZZR when it shat the bed in the south of France in 2010
  9. The joy of short term insurance. My son owns a performance car and he's been proper stiffed a time or two when taking it off the road for example. It certainly isn't confined to Carole Nash to be fair. I'd defy you to find an insurer who doesn't do it. That said, this example does sound excessive. You'd normally only pay in effect full premium if you cancelled with less than 3 months to go. Not sure what you can do about it though.
  10. chad...whats visor shit looks like the wonders of predictive text to me Dick. I suspect that should have been shut
  11. Windows 9? How can that be? We're still waiting for the release of W8 aren't we? So if you've upgraded to W7 which I guess is what you mean, you're no longer running Vista. Did you run the hardware check before upgrading?
  12. did think about that Alan Don't let me put you off Dave, they work a treat. Just feels a bit claustrophobic to me, I only use it when absolutely necessary.
  13. I don't really get on with mine. It feels like you're looking through a letterbox all the time, gets on your wick after a time.
  14. Just found this while browsing. It's the biggest pass we did in Spain last week, unfortunately being done on a BMW but you have a mute button gives a much better impression of the road than my poxy pics. I want to do it again already
  15. Brought that nice weather back with me eh? What I couldn't bring back of course (we flew) was my crash helmet & boots. Can't ride til I buy some new ones
  16. Well done to both. Congratulations and here's to the next ten (and beyond)
  17. Glad there's been a positive response to this one. When it might happen is as broad as it is long to me, but I'm definitely interested and will be more than happy to contribute to planning/organisation in due course.
  18. been getting something similar to this on the beach this week
  19. Na to much rain Big girl's blouse! I thought you were tough Viking types?
  20. Picos de Europa might work for me as I could detour off to my flat-I'll need to ride my VFR back next year for the MoT so could swap bikes & leave the Kawasaki there And from what I've read you'll have all on finding a better biking area. Scenery, roads, zero traffic
  21. Not sure if you need to be registered to see the pics, but a lad on the VFR forum did a quick visit to the Vosges in Eastern France. Just for example. http://www.bikersoracle.com/vfr/forum/showthread.php?t=118929 When we did it we stopped overnight each way as it's pretty tedious motorway. I think somewhere like this would need 5 nights away TBH.
  22. Just come off the beach. We were thinking of a ride out tomorrow for morning coffee in Sant Mateu. It's my Spanish equivalent of a ride to Matlock. And I realised you ought to be able to put faces to the thread, so it's hello from me.... ....and hello from my dearly beloved Rosita, whose birthday it is today. Just took that so I expect I'll get bollocked cos her hair's not right or she's got no lippy or somesuch. It's a dog's life
  23. As a postscipt here are a couple of pics from the coast ride. It was absolutely brilliant-even on a Saturday I managed to ride most of it unimpeded by other traffic. Just a couple of overtakes. If you find yourself on holiday around here, about 5 miles from Lloret de Mar, hire a scooter & do it. Everyone else seems to Hope you've enjoyed tagging along so to speak, there are more pics if you're interested here. Hasta la vista. http://s611.photobucket.com/albums/tt200/bandit12_photos/Spain%202012/
