  1. Do we know how much the campsite is? If we can get a reduction in room rates, then it may be more economical to get a room. Not sure how the hotel would take to having a group of hairy a bikers in there though
  2. with your new bike you are only 20 mins from home mike Good idea, may just "nip" home and get a cuppa then nip back in the morning Saves all this getting cold in a tent ...
  3. Obviously they're not considering the reduction in crime from having a squad of marines in the building Can't see much happening
  4. Look nice mate . I'd consider it, but they only go up to a 10 and I need an 11. F big feet Still, you know what they say about me with big feet? Exactly, need big socks
  5. Should get a whole raft of replies give how many people on here are OCD about cleaning their bikes The wheels are out of the ZX as off today, so I'm going to give the swinging arm, forks etc a good clean over while they're out and try and give the arm a bit of a polish. I'll be getting some 120 grit paper to rub the arms and forks over, along with a small "sandpaper" attachment on a drill and a small dremmel to get the current paint and "crud" off. Going to follow that with a buffing wheel and some autosol. Won't be doing it until next Saturday, stupid things like work get in the way . Does that sound the right way to go about it, or anything else I could do? Cheers
  6. Good work mate Very impressive with the polishing
  7. There's not much advice to give here, it's such a personal choice. The only thing to say is do what feels comfortable for you. If you can get over there, get the work done and get back then go for it. If you're not comfortable going, then don't. Consider though, would your Mum object to you going? Amsterdam is really no further from you than Newcastle (I think), so check the logistics of getting home quickly. I'm not saying "get yourself there, it'll be fine", just a few things to consider and make sure you're comfortable with any decision you make. Whatever you do, hope you and your Mum are okay
  8. Cheers Dave Looking forward to the run down in a few weeks. Chance to catch up with everyone and see a few new faces
  9. Cheers mate She still recognises you when she sees the photo of you and Angela, so once seen never forgotten
  10. Cheers mate. Think it may be the start of it. I can see her wanting a bike when she's older my "eldest" is nearly 3yrs old have thought about getting a little quad for her and turning the throttle right down also wiring the kill switch up to a dog lead like they do at proper quading venues Interesting idea, never thought about that. Samantha has just gone 4 now, so may consider that. Problem we have here is somewhere big enough for her to ride it. They've banned quads etc from all the local beaches. Good luck if you go that route, sure she'll love it
  11. Excellent Mike look forword to meeting up again Same here mate, looking forward to seeing everyone again, some for the first time Dave's been good enough to allow me a square of floor to rest my head on, so heading down Saturday so I'm fresh for the Ride on Sunday. Can't wait
  12. Cheers mate. Think it may be the start of it. I can see her wanting a bike when she's older
  13. The ride I was on during Saturday has been cancelled so I will be heading down on Saturday. Anyone else heading down from this far north? Let me know and will head down with them. Looking forward to meeting up again. And, of course, showing off the new beast
  14. Just taken a squint at the website. The other rooms are £90 per person for the two nights. In the scheme of things, not too bad a price, but think I'll be camping. Am I the only one?
  15. Took the bike out yesterday. Managed about 70m and managed to stay ahead of the rain. Getting a feel for how she rides now, but need a bit more time on her P**--d it down all day today mind Gave me a reason to get the Uni work finished, so not all bad (Must admit feels wierd not seeing the Bandit on my Avatar now )
  16. Just getting the little one started early Fortunately she looks more like her Mam than me. Very luck for the little girl It's my daughter, Samantha, on my new ZX12. I was going to put it in the April Calendar picture, but can't as it's not just the bike, it has my daughter on it. And if I put this in then others will, quite rightly, put pictures of their bikes with their children. As a result I share it here so people can see what a gorgeous daughter I have Going to have to change my Avatar pic now. Give me a few minutes.
  17. Have to agree with both Lee and Stue on this one. What a !! Good on you for picking up the "dropped ball"
  18. At least we can now see where the looks went in the family Seriously mate. Glad you had a good day . She is and the little one looks ready to take on the world. Always good to spend some time with family
  19. People in a Rover ZS trying to race two bandit 1200s and a VTR down a country lane
  20. Wonder what it's like in the corners? Actually, can it corner
  21. Very clean Something about that style, while I don't think "Yes, must have it", the more I look at it, the more I think, "not a bad looking bike that"
  22. Not guilty of any of them. That's why I have one of the fastest production bikes And it's not restricted And, of course, it's the fastest colour on the road Actually I have a mirrored visor on the HJC, but it's not an iridium
