been working at the same office over 20 yrs on monday we are moving to a new building, however only 80 % of desks are provided instead of a traditional 5 day week in the office now to go in 3 days with 'work at home' for 2 and 'book' a desk for those 3 days in work. good/Bad? don't know, we'll see, work output moniitored so no daytime TV or Hutchs Forum

thanks for your supportive remarks, had somehow forgotten the fact that it is an interest/hobby (ie; keep the bike even if just for tinkering comment) so that takes away slightly from pure financial reasoning, yes there is that thing about regretting selling, vaguely recall that from first time round biking. Reassuring to hear others have had similar thoughts and especially nice to hear the 'keep posting even if no longer a bike owner'. Feel more positive, thanks to all

Thinking of jacking in the bike despite recently joining IAM 4/5 yrs of born again biking have been great but now I’m faced with a bill of up to £600 wonder whether it’s worth it My bike cost £550, - it was £1.2 by the time I’d got it properly sorted, done the best part of 10K miles on this one but whole host of probs occurring, exhaust, oil use, tyres which could go up to £600 Things are getting scary on the roads – maybe now’s the time to quit (terrible thing to confess) – but have two months grace before the MOT and can just about keep going until then.

will you say how you are getting on be interested, there was a similar thread a little while ago, advice was to grip the tanks with the knees more and generally take tension off the hands. Takes a bit of practice and adjusting but I'm sure you will get there in the end, used to have those sort of probs but now stay in the saddle for hours.

the mechanic i go to said it was at the area where the left two pipes join he says he dismantles and reassembles them for repair - apparently he doesn't weld - don't uinderstand it myself leaving it with him for a small repair is a pain as he's on an industrial estate in the sticks. doesn't have bikes to lend what do you reckon to standard exhaust centres like kwick fix or whatever they are called for that kind of job?
