  1. Finally, after all the bits and bobs I've done I'm really glad to have her back in one piece and on the road and am pleased with the result of all the hard work....... And all Dave will see when we have a ride together.... Old and Disgraceful
  2. Trouble with cam belts is they can go anytime. It's not been unknown to have a new cambelt fitted and it still goes shortly afterwards. Seems a stupid and unreliable cheapskate way of linking the cams to the crank that all the main car manufacturers use - I've had two go on me, a Ford Mondeo (remember them?) and a Renault Espace Old and Disgraceful
  3. At long last I finally got the absolute bestest B-King in the country back together after yet more fettling and tweaking and tinkering. The Sun was shining for what seems the first time in 2013 so took the bike for the ride to work, just 3 miles from home but I went the long way - as you do. None of the guys recognised me, the usual misreable old git was replaced by a grinning loon who looks and acts 20 years younger than the ptolemyx theyv'e grown accustomed to I've had the bike down since before Christmas and it felt like my right arm had been amputated; and we all know what you miss when you don't have your right arm Old and Disgraceful

  8. 21 today Mel - woohoo Old and Disgraceful
  9. No matter what the colour/finish condition or age ALL tools benefit from a damned good polishing Old and Disgraceful
  10. Looks handy for the workshop but I'd guess from the picture it's 10-12" long - sure wouldn't fit under a B-King seat Old and Disgraceful
  11. This muppet has had stock 200/50, 190/50 and 190/55 rear tyres on B-kings from various mainstream manufacturers. Whilst I haven't really noticed much difference between makes of tyre ("normal" road riding) I really noticed how much better at turning in to a corner and changing line the 190/55 section is. That said my drag race Shinko is 190/50 which has a much larger upright contact patch than my road tyre. Old and Disgraceful
  12. Whilst a lot of people are very happy with the Avon Storm tyres I've heard of several who found them "vague" in the wet and a couple of unwanted/ unpredictable slides in the wet. Also one completely delaminated on a BMW, though I haven't heard of another going that way. That being said, all the sports and sports/touring tyres from the major manufacturers are excellent on our bigger bikes and their capabilities far exceed our mere mortal ability. The 190/55 rear section is so much better than the stock 200/50 on the B-King, so I expect this size would be equally good on the Busa. FWIW I currently have Dunlop Qualifier 2s on the B-King for road use and a super sticky Shinko drag rear for quarter mile racing. Old and Disgraceful
  13. So anyone coming for the Saturday rideout we will leave the hotel at 10.30......NO LATERPleeeease let me or Dave know if you are joining us Old and Disgracefulwhere's my racer emoticon Dave?????
  14. You saw this in Motorcycle News.......it must be true then Old and Disgraceful
  15. I can only assume the bhp figures you are quoting are crank, not rear wheel figures????? It's like the B-King, where Suzuki quoted 182bhp which must have been a crank figure and loads of us have had 160-165 rear wheel bhp for stock bikes as measured on dynos around the World and are getting up to 185ish rear wheel bhp with exhausts, decatting and airbox mod's. These B-King figures for modded motors are of course after the fuelling has been optimised, be it with a module or ecu editor. Old and Disgraceful
  16. yet another big fat ZERO I'm afraid - bike's been down for a few more mod's - will post pic's when she's back together Old and Disgraceful
  17. "me too lee but people are telling me it should be with you sat on the bike" They are WRONG Dave. Do it as per the handbook, on the sidestand. You will then still have sufficient slack with you sat on the bike and throughout the suspension travel. The chain will be tightest when the sprockets and swingarm pivot axle are in line - on the B-King that is when the main (lower) part of the swingarm is parallel with the ground which is suspension about half compressed. If you have 30mm free play on the sidestand you will, at this tightest point, have about 12mm free play, which is spot on. Suzuki did actually know what they were doing when they wrote the handbook, it's not a complete fabrication. In general you adjust with a fair bit of slack on the sidestand in the knowlecge that at the tightest point in throughout the suspension travel you'll still have enough slack without it being too much at the other extreme.
  18. The difference is negligible, and as you say you can lube at the same time - which is what I've always done. Old and Disgraceful
  19. I've pencilled Robbie and Jezza in, luxury twin suite reserved If anyone else is coming I need to know very soon before releasing the remaining rooms back to the hotel for other bookings Two remaining rooms are double with single - if they're not snapped up by Wednesday I'm unreserving them with the hotel Old and Disgraceful If in doubt, go flat out!
