  1. That's the best gain when a bike's had the fuelling sorted on the dyno. Forget the big full throttle numbers; in the real world the improvements in mid range and smoother pulling without rough spots can be significant. Old and Disgraceful
  2. Hat's off to you Chad, Just don't overdo it Reckon Dave was born OLD....... As a sprightly 57 year old I still enjoy the odd wheelie too - and going fast - and going down Old and Disgracefulhttp:
  3. And my willy is immense It too has been tuned to perform better than a stock one (Secret polishing technique) Old and Disgraceful
  4. Yep they're lying. Mine has been recorded at an actual (not silly over reading speedo) 172mph and does regular 10.1 second quarter miles. Old and Disgraceful
  5. We used to do a lot of Euro touring. Last big one, we took the ferry to Santander (7 years ago now), a week to get down south to Andalucia, a week on the Costa then a week back north to Santander. The Spanish roads have got to be some of the best, and emptiest, in Europe now after loadsa money spent on infrastructure over recent years. I'd love to go back to northern Spain and do the Picos De Europa mountains again, make it a five dayer perhaps??? Whadya think????? Old and Disgraceful
  6. Have pity on me.....This sunny and rain free year I finally bit the bullet to do major ( and I mean MAJOR) roof repairs on the house that have been put off for more than a decade. More buckets under the tarpaulins than you could imagine Old and Disgraceful
  7. So here's my "signature" done in a roundabout way Old and Disgraceful
  8. Just did a little vid as a soundcheck of my exhaust in the workshop.... http://youtu.be/4ZmkRmGMdWg Old and Disgraceful P.S. Dave, can we copy the "racer" emoticon from the B-King site?
  9. Congrats on the anniversary Me and mine been together 30yrs this Sep - you're lucky to have a wonderful better half, cherish her for all she's worth The rant - surely you're old enough to know better - so says a 57 year old with a recent conviction for being an agressive t**t Old and Disgraceful
  10. As Tony says treat whatever numbers you get as a reference for that day on that dyno, those numbers will not be the definitive absolute truth. I think if you stick to the same dyno with the same operator then you can assess how effective your current and future mod's on your bike are. Get the operator to optimise the AFR throughout the rev range, especially at part throttle openings where we live most of the time when riding on thre road. I'm always asking my dyno man to give me printouts for quarter and half throttle as well as the full throttle run. Old and Disgraceful
  11. Thanks for the comments Macie. I'm personally a very keen landscape photographer and have some truly stunning shots in my portfolio including some very summery pictures. I just couldn't get that summery feeling at any time this June when out on the bike. I'll try for some thing "torrential" for July though Old and Disgraceful
  12. That's typical robbing Carole Nash. I was with them for years, each year the premiums increasing faster than inflation whilst my no claims rose to the maximum (5 years). Then I at last searched the internet - got several quotes for less than half what they wanted - and that was with the same underwriters. Then I posed as a NEW customer and Carole Nash quoted nearly half my "loyal, been with them for years" renewal quotation. They will never have my business again Advice - shop round every year Old and Disgraceful
  13. Not wishing to step on any toes, but if anyone in the South can't make it for the Lakes weekend the B-King owners are having a ride out from Winchester to Studland Bay and Poole Quay. You're welcome to join us - let me know who might be coming...... Thanks for the help with the route Mark. I think I've now got it sorted.....Route and start point links below... Sunday 29th July 09.30 for 10.00 start http://goo.gl/maps/9iah http://goo.gl/maps/Mx9f As Rizla says, from Wichester down the A3090 to Romsey then A3057 up to Stockbridge. If we meet at the Sainsbury's petrol station SO22 7RS ( off M3 jcn11) it's the right side to avoid going through Winchester centre. And Poole quay sound good too Old and Disgraceful
  14. Thanks guys Another year nearer to being retired....or is it retarded She gave me 10litres of MucOff and some Wurth chain lube. The missus knows I like rubbing a polish on it every opportunity Old and Disgraceful
  15. Haven't done a rally in decades. Sounds good and if Jane will release me might well make it. Be good to meet you again finger and good to have another B-King there Old and Disgraceful
  16. Another B-King to keep as stock. Then I can mod "Howling Wolf" to excess
  17. Best run of the day was 10.05 with loads of 10.1s Old and Disgraceful
  18. Horse - stable door ....now you've sorted it. But I've used the Lidl magnetic bag (under £20 and as good quality as the named brands)on the B-King. The magnetic flaps do stick to the tank with a security strap round the headstock which doesn't foul the steering damper. The Lidl bag also converts to a haversack. Old and Disgraceful
  19. Dave, you can fit the "rocket launchers" over Yoshi pipes for the stock look with decent cans. FWIW drilling the stock can doesn't do much to improve the sound. All you do with this mod is remove two out of several baffle plates in the box - Suzy made it quite complex (and very heavy)in there Old and Disgraceful
  20. Yeah, laxatives might sometimes be appropriate at the drag strip. It might ONLY be in a straight line but can easily go wrong BIGTIME Far lane...Damage trying to loop his bike.... Old and Disgraceful
  21. Met Dave H via the B-King.org forum and our weekend in Norfolk. Top bloke, pity he's spoiling his bike with the largest top box ever (reminds me of a c*r*v*n) Is anyone else in the Southwest Look out for my ride out in aid of Shelterbox later in the year Old and Disgraceful
  22. apologies to Phil Gilson who has done 9 sec runs on his normally aspirated B-King already. what I meant was we're hoping for the first 9 sec run by one of our road going B-Kings
  23. I'll be at the RWYB on "Howling Wolf" and a couple of the other B-King riders will be doing a few runs. Come and join us for some straight line action - we hope to see the first 9 second quarter on a normally aspirated B-King in the UK
