We used to do a lot of Euro touring. Last big one, we took the ferry to Santander (7 years ago now), a week to get down south to Andalucia, a week on the Costa then a week back north to Santander. The Spanish roads have got to be some of the best, and emptiest, in Europe now after loadsa money spent on infrastructure over recent years. I'd love to go back to northern Spain and do the Picos De Europa mountains again, make it a five dayer perhaps??? Whadya think????? Old and Disgraceful

As Tony says treat whatever numbers you get as a reference for that day on that dyno, those numbers will not be the definitive absolute truth. I think if you stick to the same dyno with the same operator then you can assess how effective your current and future mod's on your bike are. Get the operator to optimise the AFR throughout the rev range, especially at part throttle openings where we live most of the time when riding on thre road. I'm always asking my dyno man to give me printouts for quarter and half throttle as well as the full throttle run. Old and Disgraceful

Thanks for the comments Macie. I'm personally a very keen landscape photographer and have some truly stunning shots in my portfolio including some very summery pictures. I just couldn't get that summery feeling at any time this June when out on the bike. I'll try for some thing "torrential" for July though Old and Disgraceful

Insurance (now with letter)
ptolemyx replied to Davehutch-hutchs's topic in The Pub "Tinker and Budget"
That's typical robbing Carole Nash. I was with them for years, each year the premiums increasing faster than inflation whilst my no claims rose to the maximum (5 years). Then I at last searched the internet - got several quotes for less than half what they wanted - and that was with the same underwriters. Then I posed as a NEW customer and Carole Nash quoted nearly half my "loyal, been with them for years" renewal quotation. They will never have my business again Advice - shop round every year Old and Disgraceful -
Not wishing to step on any toes, but if anyone in the South can't make it for the Lakes weekend the B-King owners are having a ride out from Winchester to Studland Bay and Poole Quay. You're welcome to join us - let me know who might be coming...... Thanks for the help with the route Mark. I think I've now got it sorted.....Route and start point links below... Sunday 29th July 09.30 for 10.00 start http://goo.gl/maps/9iah http://goo.gl/maps/Mx9f As Rizla says, from Wichester down the A3090 to Romsey then A3057 up to Stockbridge. If we meet at the Sainsbury's petrol station SO22 7RS ( off M3 jcn11) it's the right side to avoid going through Winchester centre. And Poole quay sound good too Old and Disgraceful

Horse - stable door ....now you've sorted it. But I've used the Lidl magnetic bag (under £20 and as good quality as the named brands)on the B-King. The magnetic flaps do stick to the tank with a security strap round the headstock which doesn't foul the steering damper. The Lidl bag also converts to a haversack. Old and Disgraceful

stock exhaust mod (b-king )
ptolemyx replied to Davehutch-hutchs's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
Dave, you can fit the "rocket launchers" over Yoshi pipes for the stock look with decent cans. FWIW drilling the stock can doesn't do much to improve the sound. All you do with this mod is remove two out of several baffle plates in the box - Suzy made it quite complex (and very heavy)in there Old and Disgraceful -
