  1. I refer my right honourable friend to my earlier statement /t8229-is-my-computer-ok
  2. Just back from a bit of a spin round the Peak District. Pretty much did a shortened breakfast route that I did with Dan Den & Dave (and Mel) I had to put a different oil in to my usual Castrol so just wanted to be sure there's no clutch slip or any other little gremlins-I used Silkolene and TBH at £10 a jug less than Castrol I'm well chuffed. Gear shifting is good, engine sounds great. Not sure if that's these different earplugs I've bought though Wife's gear all feels nice, she's happy with it, and I still can't believe I took nine years to fit bar risers. It feels so much nicer to ride it's ridiculous. All we need to do now is clear our work but I see no reason not to be in the tunnel Sunday morning.
  3. Well done mate. Been wondering where you'd got to, nice to see you back.
  4. Changed the oil and filter on the Kwak today, cleaned & lubed the chain, so as long as we get wifey's work cleared we look good for the Channel tunnel about this time next week. Gonna have a bit of a run out tomorrow to be sure all seems in order, up to work to run the machine for a bit, then we should be good to go. Third time lucky l hope
  5. I'm not one to split hairs but it was WAX ON, WAX OFF.
  6. I mean, what's to do? Has no one seen a decent film, been for a bit of a thrash, got nicked for speeding, or anything? Come on folks, quit hiding in the trees and feed me a morsel. I could finish up having to talk to the wife.
  7. I've not seen a new post on here for over 24 hours. Am I not updating or have all those 1100 odd members really got nothing to say?
  8. This is just the sort of thing that happens when you lack the good sense to watch Emmerdale
  9. Mate, so sorry to hear that. The main thing is it's only metal that's been damaged, but of course that's easy for me to say. Hopefully an easy and not too expensive fix.
  10. Oh yeah and in the Scottish part BEHAVE YOURSELF lots of cameras and the porridge wogs generally have a radar trap or three knocking about.
  11. Hotels & b&bs along the Middleton-Alston road would be about right. Middleton in Teesdale is a nice little place and if the ride is too slow there's plenty of roads around there to satisfy your cravings just take a look on Tripadvisor mate.
  12. Just come back from a weekend away in Shropshire. Nice day in Shrewsbury which a lovely town, and today we got lost on the Long Mynd. A great road passes through it BTW called The Burway. Narrow, some hairy stretches and gradients, but great views. Worth a detour should anyone find themselves in that area. Wife bought plenty of shoes and pottery so I guess she'll be happy for a while and I've got really aching knees. Wild ponies seem tame enough... You can see Snowdonia and the Brecons from here Car park just visible at the bottom of the batch, as these cloughs are known locally
  13. Get rid soon as mate, and I'm not a girl when it comes to tyres.
  14. if you want some company just ask Bloody hell what took so long yeah would like to bat off some serious miles prob around Brecons but will have to be late summer/early autumn so was thinking b&b tbh. Don't fret mate would keep you in the loop
  15. Wales would tempt me. I was thinking of trying to get in an overnight run to the Brecons or Snowdonia before the end of summer so could poss do a bit of a reccy
  16. Wow, great day's riding and I've literally just taken my boots off & it's pissing down! Got to go out & cover the bike but it needs to cool down first. Ace ride up, weather & traffic were both kind, apart from a stretch of the A170 but no real bother. Stopped near Scarborough for a stretch & a brew, Dave paid. On to Whitby via A169 and into the station car park. You might be sure I'd have one of these Met Mike & his dad up there, and a couple of lads Dave knows from the B King forum. They were kind enough to take us for a bit of a back lane blat before we headed home. Make sure you thank them for me Dave Just pulled off the B1257 to get a pic near Rievaulx Abbey-should have carried on to the car park but hey-ho, maybe next time. Blinding day, Genmar risers are a massive improvement, but my arse still hurts. 330 miles is always a long way on a motorbike however you dress it up. And even more for Dave
  17. OK, got my coffee, just checking my maps to see if I can remember where Whitby is got to go & fill up but no sweat on time, see you later dude
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2634135 Hope this is right Good job I checked the battery-flat as a witch's tit
  19. Sound Mike, look forward to meeting you. I was thinking of going out from the cafe the "wrong" way for us so we can head south on the B1257 into Helmsley, then maybe a tea break at Thornton Dale before the slog home. Might depend on the weather holding up TBH.
  20. Jeez Dave, let me get in from work OK, it looks like Thunderbirds Are Go!! Don't have to go to Middlesex as appeared likely, got them working over the phone. Dave, 9:00 am at J27 as before? Anyone else interested post up & we can make a different arrangement if need be. Best go & put the bike on charge to be safe
  21. I always preferred the 500, perfect blend of size, power & economy. I had to settle for a CB400-4 as it was quite a bit cheaper. What a gem that turned out to be.
  22. Wacky camera work but I'd go for a Lockheed Starfighter.
  23. Dead right-if you could see the zorsts it would be an easy ID . But that's deffo a 500-4.
