this year started shit and has gotten worse.. i'm going to have to sell the xjr if i don't get the drz back... Whats the point in having something you always wanted if some lazy, scumbag mother f****ng lowlife, money grabbing, stealing ***** can't leave it alone... I'd love to cut there bastard fingers off, but they will no doubt get new ones paid for by us, the hard workers. You know what really annoys me with this? I've had the bike for about 3 weeks... they took the chain with them when i could of still used the damn padlock, i'd just taxed the bike yesterday for a f****ng year and filled the tank up with petrol. The worse bit is, its not exactly a powerful bike so they won't break there neck/back. They knew what they were after as my xjr was next to it with no steering lock on and no chain/disc lock! not even touched the thing.

There was a rant about this on another forum, and it came down to the fact dogs eat meat, dried dog food and other shit, horses eat straw, grass, veg etc etc. Don't ask my why that has anything to do with it, at the end of the day its a big lump of slippery shit thats been dumped, most of the time on a f ing corner!

Range Rover Runs Over Bikers in NYC, 1 dead
fr499y replied to Davehutch-hutchs's topic in Pics & vids of Bikes
it happens a lot in america, they do these street rides, were groups of thousands of stunt riders, power rangers and squids join together to cause chaos and ride slowly or ride dangerously. TBF its no surprise, the range wanted to get out the way, they were blocking him in the group. Videos do not show the full story, but if you look on youtube for stuntride you will see what i meen.. They even gang up on police and do the exact same. I'm not siding with the car drive or bikers on this one. -
Thought i would post it here as there are a few things being done to the bike, plus a make over in the works. Sooo the basics! Its a 2006 Suzuki DRZ 400 SM Supermoto ( surely SM in this case should be sluggish motorcycle? ). When i purchased the bike last month it has 2200 miles on the clock, one owner from new who just happened to be a work colleague of my dads. The bike has a full stainless steel viper exhaust, 3x3 mod and a JD jet kit. This is a James Dean jet kit, not the Dyno Jet kit, which comes with tapered needles, about 7 jets and 2 different needles depending on where in the world you ride. I'm running 160 main, 45 pilot, 3rd clip on blue needle ( colder climates ) 2.5 turns on the mixture, 3x3 mod on the airbox and a uni filter. Next step is to make a new end can as this one was repacked when i got it but the sleeve is cracked, discoloured and scratched to shite. I'm going for VERY high temp packing material ( same stuff i used on my old KTM 950 SM ) which can withstand 1000+*C so should hold up nicely to this single thumper, a carbon sleeve, looking to match the original size so will be roughly 410-420mm. The internal core of the can will be left at 2" and if all goes to plan, a nice titanium outlet in a dep/pro circuit style. Oh and it might end up being bright yellow Pictures to follow!

If it didn't have the electronics for the different power modes, it would be perfect. Little things like that seriously let down a good bike. Yes there is already talk about new triple models, one that might be a tourer/enduro style as its a very slim engine that could easily fit into a frame built for a parallel twin.

Well its the new motorcycle by Yamaha which houses the newly developed 850cc three cylinder engine. On pictures and paper this bike looks stunning. A lovely middle weight triple engined motorcycle, with 115BHP and 64ft lb torque. Its light at only 188KG wet. Quick overview The bike itself kind of looks unfinished at the front ( you'll need to see one to understand what i mean ) but put that aside and its a good looking bit of kit. Its feels small and nimble when you sit on it, the bars are nice and wide and the clocks are easy to see. The seats like a plank but then again its a new bike and i weigh as much as a chicken! The Bike Suspension & Handling Not much to say, the bike felt perfectly setup for the middle weight rider. The handling of the bike was spot on. A very flick-able bike, stable on dual carriageways and very nimble around town and the back roads. Brakes The bike uses a pair of twin pot radial mounted calipers, with twin 298 mm discs on the front and a single 245 mm disc on the back. Enough power to stop you with a single finger ( wouldn't recommend trying it though ) Engine The bike has three power modes. A, STD, B. these can be changed on the fly as long as your not using the throttle, so can be altered whilst rolling, slowing down off the throttle or standing still. To me, this is where they went wrong. B mode is the only mode that i can say gives you a nice ride. Its smooth with great throttle response. Yes its what Suzuki would call a wet mode, so the power is slightly lower and the throttle is less snatchy. B seems to allow you to ride the bike how its meant to be ridden, you can slow down and gradually open the throttle, smooth without any snatchiness or hesitation. Then comes the A mode, the so called sport mode. This is what lets the bike down. You do get the full power of the bike, and with that comes brilliant acceleration BUT a very very snatchy throttle. As you would expect, this makes it very difficult to ride around town, traffic or simply pulling off from the lights. I found whilst using A and STD mode the bike would feel like it was going to die whilst pulling off, Giving the bike more throttle helped but it did make you feel like your at a drag strip waiting for the green light. With all that being said, the MT-09 in B mode makes for a brilliant ride. A Quick, nimble bike that will certainly give triumph a run for its money! I would recommend this as an alternative to Triumph's Street Triple 675, but not the Speed Triple 1050. Image copyright Yamaha

Try an older Z1000 03-06 model, with a PCIII and some nice race cans they will pull ya arm from standing to red line! Or try out a triple, might be your thing 2thumbsBut if your planning to ride a bike at high revs, your looking at the wrong bikes.. These big torque fours are designed for the low down grunt, hence why the BHP is around the 100-120 mark and not like the sports bikes in the 150's+. I've had virtually every type of bike, from cruiser to tourer, sport to supermoto and they all do what they are made to do despite the engines being close in size. I wouldn't be riding the xjr high in the revs because all the power you could want/need is low down, were as a lot of sports bikes you will need to thrash it a bit more to get the same outcome

Opinion sought on exhausts
fr499y replied to smilinjack's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
If your looking at paying £350+ for a set of cans, order from EM LINEAMOTO in Italy and get something worth paying the extra for. You can get a set of leovince cans for £360 delivered. Thats the company i buy my Mivv exhausts from and delivery usually takes 1-2 weeks. That said, IF you do go with delkevic, go for there standard style cans, i made the mistake of big bore stubbies on my triple! -

another bike matt? No money isn't on my side atm ( will be by end of next year ) i'm just doing some test rides as i'm going to be getting a brand new bike for touring end of next year. Waiting for the new v-strom 1000 to come out as well, might test a multistrada 1200, a Versys 1000 GT and a VFR800 Crossrunner. Chad, you won't regret getting a CB1000R they are cracking bikes, just think of a naked fireblade with a lot more comfort and way better looks
