What you want to do is possible but it is very impractical. 1st you need to know if they are use cb,s which are the old 27/81 frequencies or the newer cept freqencies, once you know this you can get a hand held cb that covers the necessary frequency. then you problems start, because of the wavelength of a 27mhz signal the antenna needs to be quite long, the short antenna on a hand held device will give very limited range but will still be too long to be practical on a bike,to get better range you will need a longer antenna upto 9 foot long and that will be rediculous on a bike and I think the law wouldnt be happy about it either

Callling any electrician in UK with a little question.
Neill replied to maveric's topic in The Pub "Tinker and Budget"
if the cable to the motors (3phase)only has 3 conductors and your having to use the armour as an earth conductor it must only be used as a secondary earth and it must be solidly bonded to earth through the glands at both ends, additionally you must provide a dedicated cpc (circuit protection conductor) of sufficient size to carry any fault current that may appear on it externally to the swa and bonded at the motor and the supply end. we have quite strict regulations in the uk, 17th edition IEE regulations and they publish a hand book to help sparkies interpret the regs, so I would recommend you research our regs on earthing, we use PME over here which basically means all metalwork must be permanently bonded to earth and we have to test earth loop impedance and test r1+r2 resistance on cpc's to ensure low resistance -

Indicator resistors helpppp
Neill replied to jimmywiz's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
If you have fitted a good relay and the indicators arent flashing it must be a bad connection in the circuit the flash rate is determined by the amount of current being drawn thriough the flasher relay ie if its a fast rate then insufficient current is being drawn ( too low a wattage bulb ) if it slow then excess current is being drawn ( too high a wattage bulb ) dont think yours is a wattage problem but a connection fault or broken wire -
