  1. IMO the only windows versions that weren't crap were '95 and XP.
  2. Nope. Whoever is cheapest at renewal time, they are all essentially robbing anyway! Laddo went from a 2002 1000cc bike to a 2001 600cc and it upped his premium by a hundred quid or so, plus 25 quid 'admin' costs. All the extras *used* to be included, like legal cover, changing vehicle etc but they spin it out now to find more ways to sting you. A fine example is that Co-Op insurance will cover the van cheaper than anyone else. Unless I put sign writing on it, in which case it jumps up by an extra £1000 !!

    Hey all!

Hello and welcome to the forum fella
  4. I'd personally have it on a road bike if it was available on a model I wanted. Only ridden 2 with ABS - a Pan Euro and a Sprint ST and the Triumph was excellent. Then again, just buy a 70s Jap bike - none of those had brakes fitted that would lock up
  5. Like it matey - keep us updated when you can
  6. That letter should do Dave - I had similar when I left a multibike policy with CN [1] and the new insurer did actually ring them whilst I was on the other line, CN confirmed it and new insurer was happy enough with that. For what it's worth, Lots of people (me included) feel that Carole Nash has gone downhill fast, in terms of pricing and customer service, since it was sold out to Groupama in 2007. They used to have an excellent rep for looking after existing customers, but I'm afraid that nowadays it's simply a case of whoever gives you the best price for the cover you want at renewal time gets your cash - but just for a year. [1] Their renewal price was about £80 dearer than insuring each bike separately elsewhere - even with the NCB only applicable to 1 bike.
  7. Half a litre over 2000 miles is about what laddos 2nd SV used - but it had done 35,000 miles. His first one (15,000 miles) only used oil if he put fully synthetic in. Have a mooch around the org, there's probably a wealth of info on oil consumption there mate.
  8. There is something very wrong with jumping out of a perfectly functioing plane, but have a good one and enjoy it
  9. Looksa nice bike mate The seller actually wants to give paypal 50 quid in fees?
  10. Surely under the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974, your time is spent and you can get one now?
  11. Also, don't with the Guardia Civil - they have *much* bigger guns than local plod and tend not to be too jolly. Oh and if you pay to use the motorways, don't make the mistake of thinking that it's therefore essentially a private road and is ungoverned by such trivialities as speed limits. I did like the traffic-light speed control systems on the edge of small towns though
  12. Crown Estate is Liz's though, so why does she only get 15% of the profits?
  13. Was quite common with TZRs to forget the oil injection pump and go down the premix route. I actually bothered to fit a new pump because I CBA with the faffing around and I'd more than likely forget about the little bottle of 2 stroke oil under the seat until just after that 'clutch in sharpish' moment after a lock up
  14. Congrats to her for passing Yeah the insurance for young 'uns is a joke - both of mine paid over a grand 4 or 5 years ago on an old 950cc AX. On the bright side, it would be lots dearer for your lass if she was a lad!
  15. Aint that the truth! Hmmm, July - gotta be some more hail around!
  16. Wonder if that defence will work if you get nabbed by a speed trap? Must be more to it I reckon - a lack of intent does not mitigate the 'careless' bit - did they drop it to 'due care and attention'?
  17. down the ramp off the van properly, they tend to fall . Loudly. And bugger the rear lock bar up, so you have to crowbar all the drawers open Add to that the fact that the van is running like a C90 on parafin and after dropping the tank, replacing the fuel line, new lift pump, and new leak off pipes, it can only be injectors (££s) or the injection pump (££s x lots) and it's been a pants day really. Roll on Monday, gotta be better!

    B and Q

    thanks for the laugh!
  19. [quote="stantheman"total outlay of about £600including new oil and filter sold today for £2000 and im still left with a mint scorpion can and link pipe and front and rear paddock stands and a full set of brake pads[/quote] Uber result there mate - bet you'd like to do one of those per month!
  20. Heh, cheers chaps, I know from doing the Round Britain Rally for a few years just how hard it is to get that really spot on shot - out of 50 - 70 landmarks a year I managed 2 or 3 pics that I though were really good, because there was always something amiss (usually rain on the lense for every one in Scotland!)
