  1. I am going monyash for breakfast in the morning Gave my notice Monday Dave. Hopefully I may be able to join you somewhere, sometime.....
  2. While on holiday I came across one or two interesting mounts........... Parked near the bank in Vinaros. these two were parked in Cahors, France And closer to home
  3. Enjoy guys, not going to be back before Sunday night. Too hot to ride out here, not that it stopped me. Remember, shiny side up
  4. I understand that, but Microsoft appears to be arbitrarily setting a device life and offering free upgrades within that lifespan.
  5. Interesting little snippet: Windows 10 is famously ‘free’, but Microsoft has been worryingly silent about just how free it really is. Now, only 17 days before release, leaks suggest ‘free’ Windows 10 might not be a good deal at all… The news comes from ComputerWorld which attained Microsoft internal slides that strongly suggest many Windows 10 owners will have to start paying to receive updates within two years. The key lines ComputerWorld discovered are: “Revenue allocated is deferred and recognized on a straight-line basis over the estimated period the software upgrades are expected to be provided by estimated device life…. [The estimated device life] can range from two to four years.” ‘Device life’ is the key phrase here. Microsoft has already stated revenue earned from Windows 10 must be deferred because of the free upgrade model (cash isn’t taken upfront), but it repeatedly stressed Windows 10 owners can expect to get free updates for the “supported lifetime of the device”.
  6. What with all the hoohah around Dover at the mo, I'm so glad I didn't book a crossing until the last minute. I've spent the extra and gone for St Malo. Gives me a bit more time to pack the car Saturday, and by Sunday lunchtime I'll be south of Paris anyway. Plus I sail from Portsmouth, so no Operation Stack for me.
  7. There's a really good Aprilia mechanic in Tamworth. He'll probably help you out. Griff I think they call him, don't have any details. Try the Aprilia Tuono forum PS: http://tuonozone.com/motorcycle-talk/3939-service-aprilia-performance-tamworth.html
  8. I think you could have worded that better ,"bugger m8" quite deliberate mate, well spotted
  9. Kappa is the plastic version of givi I'd buy the wingrack II and sell your top box rack/box. ( unless box fits ) would be the easiest way to make sure everything fits properly My first VFR had Kappa luggage. Have to say, it worked well and leaked less than my Givis do.
  10. I thought Givi did a three box set of racks. There's Hepco & Becker or Kappa. Problem with the ZZR1400 is that Kawasaki advise against a three box system-they don't think the subframe is strong enough IIRC. But in answer to your question, I suspect you'll need to buy a complete new system
  11. Well, summer and a Froggy strike go together like strawberries and cream. I'm crossing the Channel in a couple of weeks and if it weren't for the cost I'd change to Caen or St Malo. Fockin cheese eating surrender monkeys can be relied on for this sort of crap, unfortunately.
  12. One thing about the Yam that really appeals is actually that it isn't an inline four. I like triples, obviously since I have my S3. I've done inline fours to death, another reason TBH that I figure on keeping the VFR. Bit low on power but a V4 is a sweet motor to use-and listen to
  13. This is some test of the Z1000SX! Gotta love Babelfish http://motorsite.co/2014-kawasaki-z1000sx-for-sporting-adventures
  14. Looked at one today in Clay Cross, but I've decided to keep what I have. Perfectly adequate bikes. If I have some spare money I aim to spend it on something other than being beholden to an HP company.
  15. I know, it's been a miserable year or more, working weekends to build my business back up. But looks like my sis in law will be gone soon, and I will have some more time for myself too. Been wondering about a long weekened somewhere if I can spring some cash. You'll be the first to know Dave, panic not.
  16. ...I've deliberated recently about getting rid of a bike, maybe all of them. Then I wondered about getting one good all rounder to use for work as well as play (I plan going back into self employment quite soon) Narrowed it down to Z1000SX or the Yamaha Tracer, but having viewed them, and the cost to change, the material benefit over my 2002 VFR looks not very much. So I figure on battering my VFR when possible on jobs, leaving me with the S3 to play with. Bought a tank jacket & soft pannier rack for the Speedy mind, maybe now it's good for a weekend away. So all that remains is to count down the clock, take my company car to Spain in a couple of weeks, then give my notice. Hopefully I might actually get out to meet one or two of you in the late summer!!
  17. Got a Nexus 7 which is not dissimilar. Very useful when I'm working away and whiling away the time in some Beefeater or other, but they do have limitations compared to a PC. Think more big phone than little pooter. Page loading can be slow, not really designed to use with a USB port, but if you want to just email and read online books, maybe OK.
  18. My son gave me his old LG 42" TV to take to Spain. I've just carried out a simple hack which has allowed the "service only" USB port to now show movies and play music. Makes life much easier for watching my downloaded TV shows and films. So nice to get something for nothing.
  19. is seth still in it ? I'm afraid he's quite seriously dead.
  20. TBH I thought Top Gear had run it's course before Clarksongate. How many times can you watch middle aged men pretending to be 17 year olds? Self congratulatory crap, frankly. Give me Emmerdale any day of the week
  21. Funnily enough I quite like the look of the Tracer, so that's an interesting post. But let's face it, only Jap factory to make interesting bikes is Kawasaki. Go Aprilia, Triumph, KTM, or Ducati or similar for excitement. Like whether or not you'll get home..........
  22. That's a pretty big bike. I rather like them actually. I'm in Barrow this weekend, you can lend it me on Saturday night if you like
  23. Today looks nice, with a bit of luck I may be able to sneak off this afternoon. But yes, cold wet weekend in prospect, again. Makes me sort of glad I'm at work all weekend
  24. Might go here if l can keep the day free. Nice little place St Ives, a few decent roads around there. http://www.sifom.org
