Just got rid of Norton and trying Mcafee anti virus protection and must say first impressions are positive, computer seems 10 times faster and not as glitchy. Have used Norton for about 10 years but it was getting very expensive and had functionality that I never used. Has anyone else tried Mcafee? My son uses the free AVG with no problems but because I do online banking I wanted a bit more protection.

Took a spare seat I had for the Bandit up to "Saddlecraft" in Templetown South Shields yesterday, going to get it reshaped and a good quality gel insert fitted. The owner Les Wood seems to know his stuff and had a good chat with him, The seat should be ready in a couple of weeks as he is busy at the moment. Will post pics before and after and let you know if the gel insert is worth paying the extra for as I know Dick was interested! to be continued...............

fitting fork seals
gravelrash replied to Chadatious's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
Standard forks are a lot easier than inverted forks Chad one thing that can cause problems is the damper rod bolt which needs loosening before the fork cap is undone and as stated use good quality seals, if there is any pitting on the stanchion rub it off with autosol or similar. There is loads of advice about so have a good read before you start and everything will be fine . Just done my 500 and my brothers ZZR1100 with no problems if I'd thought of it I should have done a photo guide. Marks forks went quite smoothly but were inverted and a learning curve . Think they leaked because of cheap seals and wrong fitting method, but you live and learn, good luck mate! -

Just bought a fuel tap repair kit for my 97 er5 A1 from Wemoto went to fit it and it doesn't fit The spring diaphram is far to big and doesn't line up with the back plate screw holes, the fuel tap o ring is very thin compared to the old one and the fuel tap gasket has 3 holes one elongated compared to the 4 equal holes on my old one. Does anyone know if this sounds like a repair kit off a later model the invoice has the correct info but I will phone tomorrow and check part no's Strange thing is now the tap has been dismantled and put back together its working fine ....... Typical!

fork oil seals
gravelrash replied to haveugot1's topic in Advice on Repairing and maintaining your bike
yeah mike put them in upside down Or on the wrong sides Oi! you lot at least I didn't put the spring in upside down and it was the first time we had worked on inverted forks I thought it went pretty smoothly but when the seals went in by finger pressure not even having to drive them in I think we knew something was wrong . Still really enjoyed the day, just a shame the outcome wasn't better! You make a pretty good ham and mustard sarnie though m8 If you decide to have another go with better quality seals let me know -
