  1. Here is their website Garry http://www.saddlecraft.com/ They make their own Gel inserts and are twice as thick as normal, hope that means twice as comfortable! We will just see your arms and legs sticking out of the seat where you have sunk into the gel
  2. Its not a major reshape Dick, and your welcome to have a try out and see if you like it, I'm sure we'll meet up before the rideout in July.
  3. Just got rid of Norton and trying Mcafee anti virus protection and must say first impressions are positive, computer seems 10 times faster and not as glitchy. Have used Norton for about 10 years but it was getting very expensive and had functionality that I never used. Has anyone else tried Mcafee? My son uses the free AVG with no problems but because I do online banking I wanted a bit more protection.

  5. Was going to go to Tony Archer myself Dave but Saddlecraft is closer and I had heard good things about them Les Wood the owner of Saddlecraft said Tony Archer had just broken his ankle in an accident but acknowledged the quality of his work. Will post pics when the work is completed
  6. Love the new badge Dave, thanks mate! Only kidding Sue! I've been waiting a week for some headlight bulbs for my daughters bike, Paid extra for 1st class delivery and were apparently dispatched the day after I bought them ..............snail mail I'm sure the badge will turn up soon!
  7. Took a spare seat I had for the Bandit up to "Saddlecraft" in Templetown South Shields yesterday, going to get it reshaped and a good quality gel insert fitted. The owner Les Wood seems to know his stuff and had a good chat with him, The seat should be ready in a couple of weeks as he is busy at the moment. Will post pics before and after and let you know if the gel insert is worth paying the extra for as I know Dick was interested! to be continued...............
  8. Too much exercise Mark! as Mike says at your time of life its time you took it easy
  9. Lashing down all night and morning so no chance of getting the bike out today but glad you got a break in the weather Garry
  10. Standard forks are a lot easier than inverted forks Chad one thing that can cause problems is the damper rod bolt which needs loosening before the fork cap is undone and as stated use good quality seals, if there is any pitting on the stanchion rub it off with autosol or similar. There is loads of advice about so have a good read before you start and everything will be fine . Just done my 500 and my brothers ZZR1100 with no problems if I'd thought of it I should have done a photo guide. Marks forks went quite smoothly but were inverted and a learning curve . Think they leaked because of cheap seals and wrong fitting method, but you live and learn, good luck mate!
  11. Whoo! Whoo! just been confirmed I have got my leave days, so its a definite. Roll on July......
  12. Give that man a prize! Just to update, Wemoto say the kit sent was for the a1 model but it sounds like I have a fuel tap off a later 2000- model as these have the 4 holes in the tap gasket so are sending me the alternative one, anyhow you live and learn. But good service from Wemoto again!

  14. Its a bugger when you work shifts and don't have a fancy phone to keep up with events! If you don't like it Sue let me know!
  15. Cheers Dave, got the Bandit hooked up to the optimate but was looking for a cheap charger for the er5 and my daughters XR125 will deffo take a look at this one!
  16. Just bought a fuel tap repair kit for my 97 er5 A1 from Wemoto went to fit it and it doesn't fit The spring diaphram is far to big and doesn't line up with the back plate screw holes, the fuel tap o ring is very thin compared to the old one and the fuel tap gasket has 3 holes one elongated compared to the 4 equal holes on my old one. Does anyone know if this sounds like a repair kit off a later model the invoice has the correct info but I will phone tomorrow and check part no's Strange thing is now the tap has been dismantled and put back together its working fine ....... Typical!
  17. Well done Sue, nice to know you can stop isn't it?
  18. Really well done Lee was suppose to have my induction today but the instructor didn't turn up so I just did 10 mins on the treadmill, 10 mins on the cross trainer and 10 mins on the rowing machine gonna leave the resistance weights till I know what i'm doing I'm away all next week on a course at Toton in Nottinghamshire so will start in earnest when I return but again well done Lee sounds like your really committed mate
  19. Got to do an induction day first, then when time allows I will be doing the same Lee first ever time in a gym though! hope it works for you mate!
  20. yeah mike put them in upside down Or on the wrong sides Oi! you lot at least I didn't put the spring in upside down and it was the first time we had worked on inverted forks I thought it went pretty smoothly but when the seals went in by finger pressure not even having to drive them in I think we knew something was wrong . Still really enjoyed the day, just a shame the outcome wasn't better! You make a pretty good ham and mustard sarnie though m8 If you decide to have another go with better quality seals let me know
  21. Braver than me Mark, 8 hours of pain but does look good mate!
