One of the things I really like about this game is that the developers come online and answer questions on their fan page. They have it in closed Beta right now, but in mid July they are planning on opening the game, that is, making it more accessible through a search. I am seeing more additions on the horizon when they do open it. Maybe they will do themes and such, but since the game is brand new, it may take some time. But the fact that they are really caring about what the players in closed beta think shows that this game does have some good potential. I sense that they will be having a cash shop and such, but maybe they are seeing the mistakes that Zynga made with Petville and are going to try and avoid that route. A lot of petville people have basically abandoned the game...so I guess they are now seeing that there are other options.

My pet is close to 3 years old..
Tiddly Winks replied to Lucky Strike's topic in Pet Society Trading & Chat
It did. To give you an idea on how it looks, get a Myspace account and start playing there. You will notice a drastic change in the setup of the game. What suprised me was that I went to the Playfish website (that is the place where they advertise their games, not the forum) and noticed that they started PS on a fourth social network site called cyworld. I thought it was sort of sad, since Myspace and Bebo never get updated. I finally deleted my Bebo account and Myspace is all but abandoned. -
Y'know, I can really see where you're coming from on this now. I logged into the game and now they have speckled eagles. It's really getting out of hand. I don't mind them wanting cash for the eagles, as they aren't my favorite pets, but that can be a bit off putting for players who may like them. Of course, the more they put out, the quicker regular players will get them. Look at what happened with the persians and the Scottish Folds. They were a novelty and now they are all over the trader. Give it a week and you'll have the pets you want. Some of my friends are even asking for dyes and lenses for some of their pets. I'm just waiting. Soon the hoopla will die off and people will be getting them for nothing. Happy Pets and its trends seem to go like that.

I have had sightings, twice, but I have never seen anything like that in the daytime. I thought initially that it looked like frisbee, but then after if flew off and then came back, I wasn't so sure anymore. I don't think it's fake, given how people were reacting to it. Their reactions were too spontaneous to be rehearsed...but that's just my honest opinion. I want to hear from someone who is in London who may have seen this. I have watched it several times, both in regular screen and full screen (which is pretty amazing). I also saw a different video over the Tower of London with the same lights. I would have posted it, but the people in it were swearing, so I selected this one, but quality wise, it's better.

One of my friends posted this on her page and I thought it was amazing. According to the url, there have been several sightings in the UK, which I cannot confirm or deny since I am in Germany. I have always believed ín the existence of them. Anyone in or around London who can confirm or deny what is on this video?

Firefly in a jar! (and venice rant)
Tiddly Winks replied to Lucky Strike's topic in Pet Society Trading & Chat
I bought it and love it, the Venice package. I absolutely refuse to buy the England and India packages they really are too pricy. I think 12,000 coins is a bit of a stretch, but considering two outfits, wallpapers, decorations and floor, the price is pretty reasonable considering how much we have to pay for some of the stuff by itself. This week is expensive, but lucky for me, I don't necessarily need it all. I would have loved the Sari from the India package, but I'm not about to pay 45 ccs for it. -

I clean them all, but the flies swarming constantly around Tiddly Winks hurts my eyes. I know that sounds really bad, but it's true. Since my eyes are always moving, I can't handle too many moving graphics. It gives me a headache, so for that reason, Tiddly Winks is usually a very clean pet. So's her brother, which is rather strange since boys like dirt. Hehehee.

Fan suggestions on themes
Tiddly Winks replied to Tiddly Winks's topic in Pet Society Trading & Chat
They started rerunning them...the irony is a lot of people are suggesting things they already did. Japan, pirates of the Carribean, Alice in Wonderland, babies, Twilight, Harry Potter...I mean all these have been done before. I vote no for reruns. I know people like Twilight, but there's a Bella wig in the shops, and they did four weeks of Halloween last year. By the time Halloween had come, I was in sugar shock. -

I know that several of us had ideas for PS for themes. Now they are taking fan suggestions so get over to the fan page and toss out your ideas. I am seeing tons of repeated ideas, but I tossed out Willy Wonka, Scooby Doo, The Sixties, and Totoro. So if you have ideas, let them hear them, maybe some of your ideas will be used.

You don't have to feel stupid for posting what you think. No one should have the right to tell someone what they are supposed to feel. As for myself, I am really sorry that I haven't been around to help people out. I have been rather out of sorts as of late. On Tuesday, I found out that one of my facebook friends chose to end his life, and amidst being somewhat in shock by it, I have been trying to contend with how I feel on a general level. This was someone I didn't know personally, but given how the internet and hobbies coincide, it is very easy to sit here and ponder it, even if one is told by those around us that we should 'let it go'. It's not easy to let things like this go. It's a rather sad situation and I have been trying to be supportive to the other friends who knew this person. At any rate, I am really sorry that I haven't been here these past couple of days, I have just been contending with the emotional roller coaster that I have been on. I am hopeful that during the weekend I will feel up to posting a bit more.
