Thank you all for your prayers, God bless you! Things have calmed down quite a bit there and have returned to 'normal' but they still haven't found the druglord so that could change... I've exchanged PMs with Butterfly and she and her family are safe...praise God! Unaday - I didn't know your hubby was Jamaican! My family is from JA (I was the 1st of the family born off of the island...actually among my cousins (25) there are only 3 of us who were born outside of JA...wow, I didn't realize that until now...)....anyway, small world!

I'd like to ask everyone to keep the country of Jamaica in your prayers and please pray for one of our longstanding members, Butterfly, who lives there. Some of you may be aware of the civil unrest that began Sunday night as the police and army began fighting gangs who have established roadblocks and otherwise have barricaded the entrances to a section of Kingston where it is believed that a druglord is in hiding. The druglord is being extradited to the US to face charges and these gangs are attempting to prevent his capture. It is a bit more complicated than what I've described, but that's the long story short version. The defence forces appear to have made some small strides today but other news from the island suggests that the shootings have spread to other sections of Kingston and to other communities outside of Kingston which includes the area that Butterfly is from. I don't want to create more worry where there shouldn't be any but would like to raise up prayers of protection for her, her family, and her community in particular and may the Lord have mercy on the island overall and keep the innocent people safe. Within the last 24 hours, 26 men have been killed and many others wounded.... Praying for a speedy resolution...

Amen, SCGirlyGirl! I think there may be some truth to what the minister said in that too often some of our Christian brothers and sisters approach gay people with a condemning attitude that has no Jesus in it. I remember during the 2008 elections with Proposition 8 on the California ballot seeing Christian demonstrators with signs that spewed nothing but vitriol, e.g., "God hates you!" Some of our Christian brothers and sisters sadly miss the boat on this issue - that sin is sin as SCGG stated above and that there are opportunities here to be Jesus to them (kind, compassionate, loving, etc.) so that they can come to know Him and be freed from the gay lifestyle. Your situation could possibly be a generational curse...one indicator would be if you can trace everyone back to one member of the family. I have a couple of gay relatives but don't associate that with a generational curse because they're on different branches of the family tree. And I commend you, Raye! Especially here in California where tolerance is emphasized (perhaps overemphasized), it must be tremendously hard to take the stand that you have taken and doubly hard with gay family members who are likely telling you that it's natural, you're denying who you are, etc. This is why they give you a hard time. It's a similar dynamic to when one gets saved and leaves their worldly habits behind but their friends/family are still involved in those things and try to make the saved person feel badly (if not foolish) for their decision to give their lives to God. But stand firm in the Lord, He warned us that we would suffer persecution because we followed Him and this is a form of it. On one level, it doesn't make it easier but on another level it does because you can see it for what it is and not take it personally, God will continue to guide you through these waters. Just continue to love them and be Jesus to them without compromising who you are in Christ Jesus. I will keep you in my prayers because I know this is a challenging road.

The following was posted on Mia's prophetic dreams yahoo group by a moderator. I read it and thought we would all benefit by its message as well. Be Blessed, Lurdys ============================================================ Good Morning Dreamers! I want to first thank you all for submitting your dreams and those that have provided interpretations. I do however need to caution each of you on speculating what a dream may mean. First and foremost it is imperative that you read the dream and then ask the Lord for wisdom or guidance in interpreting. We do not wish for anyone to be misled or spiritually harmed because the dream interpretation is incorrect. Secondly, when speaking about spirits and this is something I must say God has trained me specifically in this area; be mindful of what you are telling someone to cast out. Even the stirring up of something that is not there can cause irreparable harm to a believer and place them in a far worse state. Be sure that you are clear of what spirit you identify as some are fruits of a spirit and not the spirit themselves. Also, understand that the Lord may not wish to reveal the interpretation of the dream at the time that it is posted. Does that mean you will not get an immediate answer...YES. Does it mean you will never get the answer...ITS POSSIBLE. It is the sites mission to provide interpretation that is God-given. While there may be major symbols in ones dream; it is vital that the dreamer and the interpreter continue to seek God's face on the revelation. Please, Please, do not make interpretations based on your past symbols of interpretation; seek the Lord. Dreamers always be prayerful about the interpretation and tell us if the information received was accurate. That is the only way we all will learn and grow. Lastly, if possible provide a scriptural reference so that the dreamer can and will have something to meditate on and study as a result of interpretation. Remember if it is not biblical and goes against the very essence and nature of who God is, IT WILL NOT BE POSTED. (This reference is more appropriate for the Yahoo group...in the case of this website, it will be deleted.) Interpreters, you must be able to back your words; and dreamers if what has been interpreted does not bare witness in your spirit please say so. This site is for the edification and growth of believers who have dreams and the gift of interpretation. It is NOT a psychic hotline or a place where you can just say anything, throw Christ in it and say you are an interpreter. All gifts of the Holy Spirit are just that from the Holy Spirit and there is no contradiction in them. As always we appreciate you and your willingness to share a part of your life so that we may all grow together in the Lord. Dont forget to PRAY about everything. God Bless you ~Kijafa, Moderator

Wow princessdelia, what a great testimony! If that's not Ephesians 3:20-21, I don't know what is! Ephesians 3:20-21 - Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Thank you Lord, for Your lovingkindness and Your faithfulness! True Flight and Dreamster, hold on and be steadfast in your faith. Your blessing is on it's way. He's never let you down before and He's not going to let you down now. Can't wait to hear your testimonies.

Hi True Flight - Thank you SOOO MUCH for posting this! We need to hear both the testimony of God's love/faithfulness/miracles to be encouraged and remain steadfast in our faith. We need to also remember that prayer changes things and the "BUT GOD" in situations - prayer is our most powerful weapon in any situation. And we also need to be reminded to keep our eyes and ears open and to read the Word regularly so that it can settle in our spirits and we can discern that which is from God versus that which is not. This New Age/humanist movement is so clandestine because it operates with a kind and gentle and loving (but scripturally inaccurate) approach. It subtlely mistates and twists the context of scripture and biblical principles so unless one is very well versed in the Word, it is VERY easy to become misled. Unfortunate, some of our own members appear to have fallen into this teaching so we have to pray for them and prayerfully correct them when the false teachings surface. Thank you again, this post in right on time!!

Amen, preach Cholette! ...I was wondering what do you do when God called you to do Something & you know you have to do it but your still tied to your friends?? You...let...them...go. When you remember just how much God loves you and all that He has done for you and all that He desires to do for you, it's pretty straightforward. NOT that it's easy... There's something that the Lord wants me to do right now and I have to admit that I've been resisting it so I know how you feel. But I'm praying for a spirit of boldness and wisdom and discernment (and whatever else He sees that I need ) in order to do what it is that He wants done and have asked Him to provide the opportunity and make it crystal clear to me when it has arrived. My advice to you is to do the same...pour your heart out to Him, submit to Him, and let Him release you of that fear (2Timothy 1:7). Ask Him to place in you all that is needed to move to your destined place, bringing in the people who will help you reached your place of destiny while removing those people who are hindrances. As Cholette said, get into the Word of God so that He can strengthen you. My friends say that if I take space from them I didn't understand this part...what space would you be taking from them?

Have ants in my pants and I want to leave this church
lola21st replied to Christa's topic in A Praying Place
I agree with all points made...same thing happened to me about 5 years ago..the church I was attending was dead and I wasn't being spiritually fed. I didn't want to get ahead of the Lord if there was a role He had for me in that church and I didn't want to start church hopping. So I asked him for signs and he provided them over the next few months. Changing churches was the best thing that could've happened to me...in just one year I learned more about the Lord than I had the previous 5 years (no joke)... The challenge is making sure it's a God move while not overanalyzing whether or not you're hearing from God...it's not easy! Virtuous - Glad to see you, it's been a while! -
